Omnibus, Absolute, Deluxe, and HC Thread 19 19

Still haven't seen any news if Marvel is going to print a slipcase collection in 2021. They usually announced them in March, though I can't recall when they announced the X-Men one last year.

Haven't picked up anything in long while.

I was thrilled, however, to see 

1) JLA bronze 3 finally came out. It is big and beautiful.

2) IST delivered very quickly.

3) IST didn't use peanut PITA styrofoam packing, but instead used plastic air pillows.

The hardcovers for the King Features Syndicate (Phantom, Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician) are pretty hard to find at a reasonable price. I was able to pick these up directly from Hermes Press on sale.

I've gotten either/or from them. Definitely prefer the 'pillows', though.

Incoming!  (as in April 2022)

I've always been a sucker for anthology books spanning several decades, with wildly different art styles, but a connecting theme, going all the way back to the original 100 Page Super Spectaculars and the oversized Treasury books from the 1970s.  I've read the original Kirby FF Doom stories (in reprints), but most of the rest of these would be new to me.  Definitely interested in this one.

I have seen them restock things, but I would say that generally once they're sold out, they're done.

New additions: first year hardcover of Dan Slott's Fantastic Four run. Not great by any means, but it was cheap, and my magic word, 'hardcover'. 

That Fantastic Four Epic Collection volume I complained about above, the New FF, I did end up getting a copy. Cost me too much, it arrived dinged up, but at least I've got the dang book. Less said on that one the better. 

Then just some miscellaneous tpbs. I know it's all FF heavy, but that's just because there's been no X-Men or JSA releases for me lately (besides the UXM4 omni I already mentioned), nor anything else I've wanted. So FF it's been, just filling gaps.

Just got notice from Amazon that Fantastic Four omni by Lre/Kirby volume 4 has been pushed back a couple of weeks. No big deal, but thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else had it preordered elsewhere.

Just FYI, all kinds of obsolete and formerly expensive older omnis are going to be reprinted soon... like.

and newer stuff like Peter David Hulk Vol 1.

Who's Who Vol 2 was announced. It will reprint the loose leaf series from the early 90s along with Who's Who in the Legion.

So I noticed that the X-Men omnibuses start with GSXM/94, which surprised me...is there an omni series that actually starts at 1 and goes from there (excluding Masterworks, which are more collections than omnis)? Or do I need to get Essential Classic X-Men volumes for the early stuff, and either Essential Uncanny or Uncanny Omni for the rest (which...really would suck, since it would mean different titles between the two...)?

Okay, so I can try and nab the X-Men 1/2 volumes that are getting reprinted, and then start picking up the UXM omnis to get everything else after that, and that should cover without gaps...good to know. Thanks!

Not really, 
I believe The Uncanny X-Men volume 1 and 2
are already sold out and out of print.

You are not the only one looking for these books
and when they come they go fast.

As a post earlier in this thread mentions, Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 and 2 are getting reprinted in November and December of this year, and available now for pre-order, for example here.

A part of me wonders if I should pick up a new print of UXM 1. I've only got the first print, and it'd be nice to have a sewn one, although the glue on here is absolutely fine, for now. Problem is, I'm guessing they're using the lighter paper now, not the nice thick stuff used on the first and second prints?

I have a relatively new printing of UXM1 (2020).  The paper is not see through like my Defenders V1.
