How about other GGA collectors out there like adamstrange?

Count me in, but my collection is much smaller than what many of you have:

25 or so Fiction House books (mostly Jumbos)

2 Seven Seas GGA covers (3 and 6)

1 Rulah (restored, alas, by some numbskull from VF to apparent VF)

1 Archie (#50)

and a smattering of other books.

Can you post that Archie #50?

I was going to go for that book but oddly enough picked up a raw one same grade from DTA for a decent price (he came down considerably and accepted my best offer). Great cover, #9 seems a little more common than the first eight.

We think alike. thumbsup2.gif

By the way, can you list your top 10 favorite GGA covers? It's interesting to get people's opinions on this subject.

Some huge work deadlines until Nov 1, after which I hope to post my list (and upload a few worthy scans). Blue Beetle 54 and 2 PL's will be on my top 10 list, and Wonder Women #12 (gotta love that phallic imagery). Want to enjoy the thought process involved in generating the list, not rush it.

Working on that list.

I assume that I can include books with "bad girl art" in my GGA list, because at least 2 of my top ten babe books feature bad girls. Or do they deserve their own category?

They deserve their own category. Here's my favorite example of GA bad girl art...

For the past 2 years I've been exclusively collecting Good Girl Art issues from various publications (Fox, Fiction House, Better, Nedor, etc.). These books were purchased either off Ebay or from some major dealers (Metro, Four Color, Bedrock City, Superworld, Harley Yee, and many others).

I first became interested in good/bad girl art covers back in the 90's with Image/Top Cow titles (Glory, Gen 13, Darkchylde, etc.). I then moved on to variant covers (some nude) of Hellina, Jungle Fantasy, Double Impact, etc. However, I finally found my niche with the 1940's and 50's good girl art covers from various artists (Kamen, Feldstein, Schomburg, Baker, etc.). Once I noticed these covers I was hooked.

Over the next week or two I'll post most of these slabbed books in this thread. A good majority of them are CGC graded, but I recently sent a batch to PGX so I can get the books back sooner. Most of the PGX graded books were either rejected by CGC due to overhang, or are fairly low or mid grade books that value at less then $150. I hope CGC won't mind me posting them here since they're not in the marketplace.

None of the books I'll be listing are Church copies or even rate higher than 9.2 (average is around 7.0). About 15 or 20 of them are top of census, but probably for not too long. However, I figured it'd be fun to list them all in one thread. I've only posted one or two of these books before so I wouldn't repeat myself. I've usually refrained from posting in some of the good girl art threads that come up from time to time in the GA forum, so I can create this thread. I'm still missing some major books like Phantom Lady 17, 23, Junior #14, Seven Seas #4, etc. These books are a little too expensive or hardly show up at this time.

Anyway, I'll start with some Fox titles, then move on to Better/Nedor, then to Fiction House (the majority), and finally to miscelaneous titles. O.K., I'm going to start posting now. smile.gif

Too cool! Thank you for sharing these covers! I just wish I had a connection faster than my primitive 56K!

Love the Jungle-themed books.

Great collection Skybolt.

I'm amazed at home much Jungle-themed books were around at this time. I know Tarzan has always been a steady interest, but does anyone know why jungle-related subjects were such a hit? Exotic locales? Primitive lust? Dark Continent mysteries?!?

Anyway, I'm really enjoying this thread!

My top 10 List (cutting it to 10 was painful)

Blue Beetle 52

Blue Beetle 54

Brenda Starr 4

Famous Funnies 210

Jo-Jo 25

Phantom Lady 17

Phantom Lady 18

Phantom Lady 23

Seven Seas 4

Wonder Woman 12

Sadly, books from many of my favorite titles (All-Top, Planet, Wonder, Zoot/Rulah) couldn't break into the top 10.
