I saw the price on that CGC 9.4 Albedo #3 as "$13.00" instead of "513.00" and my heart skipped a beat. I would have paid at least $13.50. :kidaround:

Lol you thought the "5" was a $ sign haha

Any guesses as to where this copy of Cerebus 1 will finish up at the Heritage weekend auction this Sunday:  hm

Already sitting at $5,760 with the BP juice in there which is miles ahead of the $1,320 that the last CGC 8.0 graded copy managed to fetched at HA back in September of 2019.  My bet is that it will also blow right past the $7,200 price point that the CGC 7.5 graded copy managed to fetched at HA back only a few short months ago in December of 2021.  (thumbsu

Will definitely be interesting to watch where it ends up by the time it's all said and done.  :taptaptap:  :taptaptap:

Is that with BP?

Yes, looks like the hammer was hit at $6,800 with the final price then coming in at $8,160 including the 20% BP juice.  (thumbsu

I was actually expecting it to go a bit higher than that considering that they had just auctioned off a slightly lower CGC 7.5 graded copy off for $7,200 just a few short months earlier in December of 2021.  Then, I took a closer look at both copies and from both the front and back cover scans, it woud appear from a strict visual POV that the CGC 7.5 graded copy presents noticeably nicer than the CGC 8.0 graded copy.  hm  (shrug)

Yup- there’s a self-published #1, which is easy to find in high grade due to the Bros. holding onto a bunch of them and selling them a few years ago.

The Fantagraphics (black cover) version has 5 printings. More copies overall, but tougher to find nice copies of.

yes, and fortunately later printings of the regular #1 are easy to distinguish, as they all have different cover prices. So you don't have to open them up to discover what you've got.

1st $2.95

2nd $3.50

3rd $3.95

5th $4.95

The fourth print doesn't actually exist, as far as I can tell.

Is it they finally said the black and white cover was the first print?

These are the Fantagraphics printings starting in 1982. Los Bros Hernandez self published the B&W #1 a year earlier (1981).
