Hi there,

No I mean the price variant. If it is a 35c variant, the copy goes up in price for some reason.

I have listed many comics in the past, and everyone always wants to know the variant is, thats why I list it.

If you have any further questions please feel free to email me anytime.

Thank you for your interest in the books,

Karen

My answer:

Hello Karen,

I included these links for you to show you why the 30 cent and 35 cent Marvel Price variants are genuinely rare and the history behind them.

I was trying to let you know that the Avengers comics you listed ARE NOT variants. They are the regular more common issues and as such will not fetch the same premiums as the genuine price variants. Quick summary: in the summers of 1976 and 1977, Marvel wanted to test the market and increased the price by 5 cents for certain test markets - the 30 centers are easy to find as they are denoted with 30 cent price logos highlighted in black in a starburst, the 35 cent variants have a different font '5' in the 35 cent price and the '5' is off kilter, seeming like it is floating.

The Avengers issues you listed are regular editions with the correct prices that went out to the non-test market cities. I would refrain from marking issues as variants when they are not as that could lead to several unhappy winners who will renege if the find out what they've really won or hold you accountable for false advertising.

Her response:

Hi there,

Thank you for the information, I will go and change the listing right now.

I am gathering my information from the Overstreet Comic Guide, and from what I have heard from others, and I must have mis read the variant thing all together.

Thanks again,

Karen

I wished her luck and her response (why can't we have more sellers like this?):

Hello again,

No thank you, for bringing it to my attention. I don't want to mis lead anyone, in any way. I value my feedback, and I want to make sure that people are getting what it is that I am advertising. I didn't know a thing about comics until I found about 300 in my attic. I'll tell you, I sure have been getting an education every since. I was just going to throw them away.

Thanks again I enjoy learning everything I can about comics,

Karen

Ok All, I've finally updated the site. I now count only 36 unaccounted for issues, plus a couple a may have left off the list. So we can safely say there are approximately 40 issues left to find.

More importantly, I've moved the site to a new ISP, so follow the link and bookmark it. This should be the start of some extensive revisions I'll be making, including trying to make a comprehensive gallery of all variant covers. If you have any recent finds, send in those scans.
