I did enjoy this version of the movie more than the theatrical release.  I really didn't think Joss Whedon would have changed so much from what Zach Snyder originally shot. Really fascinating contrast.

As much as I like to give Joss Whedon s^&* for what he did to JL, he can't take the blame alone. WB gave him an impossible task. It is definitely quite jarring to see how different the same movie/story is in 2 almost completely different cuts.

If you watch the two cuts side-by-side, one of the biggest changes is how the 2021 film, often referred to as the "Snyder Cut," portrays its female characters on screen. The 2017 Joss Whedon version contains more than a dozen cringeworthy moments directed at Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, the Amazons, and more.

All of these moments are removed from the "Snyder Cut," instead highlighting women's strength in each scene.

In the theatrical cut, a large focus was on Steppenwolf sexualizing the Amazons while trying to acquire the box. Instead of looking like powerful warriors, they were easily knocked around and looked like they were desperately on the run from a monster who was excited by the thrill of the chase.

Snyder's cut put the focus back on the Amazons instead of on Steppenwolf, who comes off as a predatory creep in the theatrical release. Now, instead of them fearing him, it looks if he's at the mercy of these god-like warriors.

Despite how awesome the set looks, I simply can't justify spending $200 on a soundtrack.

Same here. But with album-type content it does have a sense of nostalgia tied to it. Which is cool.

I don’t even own a record player yet but considering it now. That set is amazing and the soundtrack itself is worthy of it.

How the WB Studios executive team ignores this is so spiteful. All because of egos.

Yup. Not planning a JL sequel seems like nothing but pure spite. Don't want Snyder to direct it? Okay, then find a suitable director. Fisher doesn't want to work with Hamada? Then recast Cyborg. Abandoning the story and cohesiveness altogether is nothing but pure ignorance, and makes the DCEU relatively worthless if there is no end game.

God, I love this movie!

There are so many details that so many people point out to me that elevate it. Recently, that Victor's scream out for Barry is because he knows that The Flash is the only person in the world that can save them at that point. Not Superman or anyone else.

It's also chilling and wonderful how every hero is absolutely necessary to reach a victorious outcome, even if The Flash didn't have to reverse time.
