No - it's a fundamental principle of Canadian economics.

Thought I would recap Session 1 of the September ComicLink auction (following the August recap I did a few pages back on this thread).    Not sure I have the time or energy to do a recap of the 95 pages of Session 3 :)       Anyway - I added some DC books this time to be a little more inclusive.   Also added a column with the August CL results if I had tracked the same book/grade.   All these results are only CGC Blue Label books.   Apologies in advance if there are typos or transposed numbers.......

A few of my observations...

+/- 5% from prior sale or 90 day in the this market is essentially flat.   The market still feels pretty volatile seeing so many books with 20%,30%, and 40% swings within a given month.    If you are a buy and hold person it is probably good idea to embrace the idea of dollar cost averaging when buying right now.

Some of the books that saw such meteoric rises over the Spring/Summer (GSX1, IH 181, X-Men 1) have not yet found their footing.

Even in a declining market, the page quality, appearance of the book can make a big difference in sale results.   Especially on the high grade books.

Some books rebounded from the August CL results - feels like there were some good buys in that August auction.

As another person commented somewhere on these boards......feels like many IG, FB, and even Ebay sellers are trying to hold their prices to the summer highs.  And as another person said - "yesterday's prices are not today's prices"   Which is true going both directions.

This is well-done! Thank you! I was looking through a few benchmark issues, but this really shows a lot more of the big picture.

Agreed. One example. GSX1, which had a pretty significant decrease, has been on the rise in many grades lately.

Just sold my GSX1 on CL CGC 9.4 with White pages for $12000. It’s definitely lower

Here are some key books from the first day of CL Session 3.   Given this session is closing over the next week - I will post incremental recaps as time allows.

Day one is the same story as seen in Session 1 - majority down from last and 90.   But unlike Session 1 where some books rebounded from August CL results - the Spidey books here just continued the downward trend.    The really big exception was the ASM 300 9.8 Newsstand - that is a huge sale.

Down down down.  Probably only going to continue as  we head into the holiday season. I'm thinking about listing a few books for Christmas money soon

Thanks for putting this together.

Avengers Annual 10 in 9.2 is in my stack, pretty much due to what you posted above. I mentioned in the Wins thread, I have won more books in this one (granted several are like the Avengers Ann 10) than all the others combined and so far it may be the smallest invoice this year.

It's worth overlaying some of the population numbers here.   The Spidey books are turning in big numbers every auction now.

Searching right now there are 1,868 Spiderman books in the current and coming auctions at the clink.

194 - 18 copies on the blocks.

238 - 12 copies

252 - 28 copies

300 - 23 copies

That many copies turning up auction after auction with multiple options in each grade, is going to hurt prices.

True, I was scanning and not sure there has ever been demand in the past to have 29 copies of Eternals #1 in one auction.

I honestly don't get it.  What is the point of hoarding this many copies of a single issue?  There is no realistic way to avoid a loss, much less get an actual return on that investment.

To be fair, those books are only going up. If he bought them when they were printed, he's definitely making money
