Is that really all that strange? I've seen a bunch of people here that deslab their graded books and just put them in mylar bags and keep the label inside the bag for reference. I even remember one person making their own custom sort of bag layout for displaying the book with the label and some other information.

Not that I would ever do that, anything I want to get slabbed is because I want them to stay in a slab, but I thought it wasn't too uncommon that people just send stuff to get graded and then immediately crack it and keep the label handy.

There are a ton of crackers on this board....

I've been framing my favorites and initially I was buying reader copies, but then I realized I could read them as well as thousands of others by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited so that's what I did, and I couldn't be happier with that choice as now I can reread what I frame as well as comics and whole series even that I never had interest in as a kid and then decide if it's worth going out and hunting down a copy.

I'm glad it came back as a 9.0.  You are correct, pics on a website don't always show the whole "picture".  Congrats!

Those Mr. Miracles look really nice and look real good in that frame.  Nicely done.  Did you frame them yourself or have it done?

Also, look at the black line running up the spine.  Looks like it got moved towards the center a bit.

Can you explain, now that we have established what a staple is, why the staples look different in the raw vs slabbed book?

can someone explain the staples then?

I can't explain why you're seeing something that no one else is seeing.

I see no difference, other than what can easily be explained away as a difference in lighting conditions.
