Talapas1
I started this challenge back in 2021 and after reading most of the Usagi Yojimbo run in January of last year, I stalled out spectacularly by only reading a book or two for the rest of the year. Hopefully I can read all my pulled books that I failed to get at last year. ttfitz
srezvan
45 comics so far this year. Witcher Vol 5 - I really liked this mini series. Great writing style with an interesting ending. Red Sonja: Travels Vol 1 - compilation of 4 Red Sonja one-shots. I may have found this by accident on InStockTrades while looking for some Conan books, but I don't remember. I though all 4 stories were great, especially for me as a Conan fan. I'll need to find a cheap copy of Vol 2. Pirates of Dark Water - I watched the cartoon with my kids a little while ago on our weekly Sunday Cartoon Brunch. Such a great show. My daughter was interested in the comics, too, so I read them to her. First six issues repeat content from the cartoon, but the last 3 issues contained a new story not covered by the cartoon. I've had these comics for 20+ years and I think this was my first time reading them. Lots of fun. BTW, if you happen to have a copy of the Pirates of Dark Water RPG (World Book) laying around, I'd love to buy it. kccoig14, Ken Aldred and Raze
theCapraAegagrus
Books 17-26: Something is Killing the Children #1-10 The writing for issue #1 was unrealistic, including the principal cursing and whining to a student, but the 'realism' in writing and dialogue really picks up after the first issue. I wanted to finish the series this weekend, but laziness - among other things - occupied my time, instead. Definitely recommended for those who like horror/mystery or who may be on the fence. I don't want to give away to much of the plot but the subtle development of a relationship through this book is something I haven't read/ seen in comics in awhile. I know people either hate or love Tom King, but he's been killing it with this book as well. And the art is so good and very fun to look at. Agreed 100% on Human Target. I don't ready many new books, but I'm loving this one. kccoig14
theCapraAegagrus
Books 27-36: Something is Killing the Children #11-20 Are they continuing this series? I liked it a lot, though admittedly I did skim through the origins issues at the end. Generally, I'm just not a fan of non-linear storytelling. I understand that it may keep the mystery/intrigue for certain characters, but it's just not my cup of tea. Raze
Popular Post Norrin_Radd
Finished reading through Cerebus #120. 40% through now... Finished Church & State and now starting Jaka's Story. Beautiful art... The Church & State storyline was pretty wild but Dave Sim's note in issue #98 explains some things... Between this and the Black C.A.T. thread over in Copper, I'm feeling the urge to revisit Cerebus. It's been 25 years since I read Church and State, I'd say I'm overdue. I used to be a dedicated Constantine fan, never missed an issue. Had the whole 300 issue DC/Vertigo run, then got Justice League Dark, and tried to hang with the "mainstream" DCU series for a while, but just wasn't into it anymore. I'll have to look into the one you're talking about, as I love the character, but am really out of touch with moderns. Ken Aldred

I enjoyed Locke & Key so I would recommend you read that since you have all the complete collection. You can sneak in an issue of any of the ECs here and there. srezvan
58 comics so far this year. Savage Avengers TPB #1 and #2. I think this was a recommendation from the boards. It's an interesting mix of characters. I thought the first TPB was just ok. But I really enjoyed the second TPB. The dialogue between Conan/Punisher, then Conan/Black Widow/Helstrom was fantastic. I think the thing that bothered me the most about these is the magic. Brother Voodoo, Kulan Gath, Dr. Strange..all the different types of magic that coexist somehow. They tried to tie them all together by all these characters being Sorcerer Supreme at different times, but I think all the different types of magic created over the years getting jammed together makes for a big mess. Other than that, an entertaining read. I'll need to pick up the rest of the TPBs at some point. Is it the Plastic Crack thread with all the Aliens discussion? I was reading that, and just happened to pick this up, so I though now was a good time to read it. I'm a big fan of David Wenzel (I was fortunate to meet him at Dragon Con a few times and picked up some awesome sketches from him), but this book was a little bit of a disappointment when it came to the writing. It was ok, but nothing special. Raze, RayJr and F For Fake

srezvan
Bleh. I love the Phantom, but the story and art were a mess. Plus weird dialogue bubbles and grammatical errors in the text. Next up, I'm reading a stack of the new Serenity/Firefly hardcovers. Ken Aldred, kccoig14 and Raze

kccoig14
I've reached a quarter way to completing 1000 and it's only February. Seems like I'm well on my way. Here's my list for the month of February. My favorite book for this month is Hellboy and the B.P.R.D: Forgotten Lives. It's a touching one shot about one man's legacy, and any book that has Hellboy fan-boying over the lobster is always a favorite of mine. Another set of stand out titles are Fraternity and Spellbound, solely based on the artwork alone, but the stories are fantastic also. srezvan
73 comics so far this year. I'm trying to catch up on the new-ish Firefly comics. I'm a big fan of the show/movie and I though the Dark Horse comics were great. I think the overall dialog and storyline are good, but the art is rough. I also think the HC format makes these a bit expensive. Lots more HCs to go! Ken Aldred, Raze, sevans1979 and 1 other
