Back in ‘96 or ‘97, pre-eBay, I would pick up the CBG (Comic Buyers Guide) where comic warehouses over ordered and were blowing out NM+ unread copies for 59 cents each.   ASM 365 was a bit more expensive at 69 cents a copy

I just bought another copy of Rom 26 out of a dollar box because Galactus is cool.  
 

I don’t think I’ve ever even actually read the book, but I see a nice copy of it in the dollar box and it comes home with me.

The reason I have Multiple copies is that my comic shop didn't always get what I had ordered. So trying to keep my collection of the series I was reading. I would Order at two walk-in comic stores and also did a mail order co. So I Sometimes ended up wit 2 or three extra copies. Found out later that one walk-in store would pull out the hot books and try to sell them at an inflated price later. Needless to say I quit going to him when I found out.

Sent two to make sure I got 9.8. One got newton rings, other got bent pages.

I’m trying to understand what’s going on with that corner.  Is it an impact to the corner on the back cover, or were pages folded over?

I honestly have no idea... The front of the cover/casing looks fine. Maybe it's spacer paper or something?

The newton rings are preferable even though she looks like she's sitting in a puddle. Also worth noting both were supposed to be pressed.

Not sure who is in that picture, but "desert-comics" has auctioned off probably between 100-200 copies on ebay over the last 3 or 4 months. I would imagine those books are from the stash shown in that picture. Many, many of them are mid grade and lower copies.

My local shop apparently got in a really beat up copy of SW 8 and put it out for 5 bucks and sold it before I got to it. I was disappointed at first but then realized it was probably for the best anyways.
