Got through the Animaniacs & Pinky.  I think that short box had total prices more than the last 3 indie boxes.

A lot of 8/9, 12/15, 20's and a $34.

I had the #1 DC Logo found earlier in the project I posted, no other DC logo's but lot's of book value in these, so that's good.

#51 is showing $195 on one of the price guides, lots listed on ebay $99+, not sure where reality is on this one though.

Also had a cassette tape Animaniacs Song Sampler in the back of the box

Pinky and the Brain had some decent value as well, so happy with this part of the kid box.

The cassette was originally in a pack with the Animaniacs #1 DC Universe Logo.

Oh, and @StrikeOutXXXre: the "kiddie titles", look for DC Universe Logo variants. There are several kids titles that had them, like Animaniacs, Carmen San Diego, Looney Tunes, etc and they will sell for a premium in grade. That goes for the DC Logo variants on the superhero books as well, but the kid titles seem to be trickier.

@Qalyar OK, that makes sense with the newsstand/direct - but... other than the actual addition of the UPC (or other design like the chart onlyweaknesskryptonite posted a few pages back) is there any difference in the interior, graphics, etc?  If not, then I certainly understand collecting by variety - kind of like collecting by die marriages or die states in coins, but I'm a variety guy so understand.

The last few Animaniacs issues (probably starting around #50 or a little earlier, through the last issue at #59) appear in much smaller quantities than the early books. That said, I think people pricing them at $50, $75, $99+ aren't going to see them sell for those prices any time soon.

So I'm down to just 2 piles in the house.  The 4 long boxes on the left and smaller box on top are priced stuff ready to go down to the shop.  The 7.5 boxes to the right are the Indie, and a box of kiddie things (Simpsons, Animaniacs, Pinky, etc).  Going to do the rest of the indie stuff next.

 

Then pile #2 has the 6 boxes worth of comics on the left marked "Sets" - A lot of full runs or sets of books bagged together, mix of publishers, but heavy on the indie side.  I'll do the set boxes after I'm done with the indie stack.  Then on the right are about 5 boxes that has 2.5 worth of Star-Trek, 1.5 of the Manga, some leftover Marvel I missed when going through the Marvel stuff, and a few project boxes of things I'm trying to figure out and some orders getting ready to go out.

 

 

So only about 18 boxes of the 44.5 I brought home left to hunt for treasure in.  We're getting there!

 

 

either a newsstand or 2nd print 75 are both very tough to find. The 2nd print is much more valuable. Great find.

I have no clue what's going on with True Gein. I would not expect it to command particularly high prices. I'm aware that some unscrupulous sellers have attempted to claim this is a Texas Chainsaw Massacre book, or even first appearance. Ed Gein was the inspiration for the creation of the Leatherface character, but that's not really how any of this works; this is not a TCM book. The only Boneyard Press books that I'm aware of selling at a consistent premium are the two issues of On Raven's Wings, because they're the first published comic industry works of Gerard Way, later known as the writer of Umbrella Academy, and better known to the rest of the world as frontman for My Chemical Romance.

Otherwise, I'll note you actually just have two full sets of He Said/She Said. Unless there are separate printing that I'm unaware of, all of those are flipbooks, with each version of the story starting from one cover. They also all originally shipped with a poster bound into the centerfold, which is sometimes missing. Regardless, they're not worth... much. At all.

The True Gein book, in grade, can be a $10-20 book, more if you find the right buyer. The serial killer thing is an offshoot of the horror collectors, and horror collectors will pay big $$$ for books they want. The $100+ asking prices are ludicrous, but I'd not be surprised at all to see a nice copy sell for $20 or $25.

So here is my dilemma with True Gein:

ComicsPriceGuide lists 9.4 at $3 and only has 1 cover:

AtomicAvenue.com has NM Price Guide at $3.25 but has 1 available at $144.99

eBay has 3 sold: with shipping, about: $30, $26 (Signed), $15, then a lot of 3 for for $24

There are 9 listed/not sold at about $150, $149, $135, $120, $100, $85, $80 (Signed), $50 (Signed), $47

So with "Guides" so low, I'm guessing the eBay sold is likely more indicative at around $20-$25

I've just never seen the prices so all over the place.

Then, quandary #2 is I also have a special cover that's signed that doesn't show in the price guides, although there are 2 listed on eBay and 1 sold.

My 3 are:

So if I mark the two regular ones $20 and the signed $25, am I at least in the ballpark?  Then ignore those folks with the way elevated prices?

I'd think that's a fair approximation. I would absolutely discount any and all unsold books, especially with higher prices. The only data that really matters is what the books sold for. Those prices may vary based on condition, or totally random factors such as when a particular buyer happened to be looking at eBay that day. But the sold prices should give you an idea. I'd say put them out one at a time. If the first book sells quickly at $20, put the next one out for $25. If it doesn't sell at all at $20, I'd lower the price another $5. I'd absolutely hold onto the signed book until last, and base its price around what the previous copies sold for. If you sell one for $20 immediately, and another for $25 just as quickly, I wouldn't be shy about putting $40-$50 on the signed copy. You can ALWAYS lower prices, but you can't increase a price after a  book is sold.
