For a long time, you could only get it off his 1-800 number and even then, only if you faxed a copy of your driver's license. It was out of print for over a decade but is in print now from what I understand. You'll never look at an ice cream sundae the same way again... Funnily enough, my favourite piece is the exact scene from The Little Mermaid, where Ursula says "Now look at me - wasted away to practically nothing" which also is married up with the original background, as she flops upside down, grossly blubbery, tentacles flailing. You might try and auction house, like Heritage or Sotheby's. Ebay reaches a large group of prospective buyers, but my guess is, the animation cells you have would do better in a private auction environment. More likely to draw SERIOUS collectors. I would think the hard core collectors would be more likely to look at auction catalog's than scan eBay for this type of thing. When you put them on eBay, did you notice if there were any other similar auctions up? How did you acquire yours? Were they eBay purchases? Did you buy them from another collector? Disney? There are 4-5 on ebay at any time, but they rarely sell high if at all. People don’t want to buy unless they know what they are getting. A verified cel has a cost difference as that of a raw and a CGC 9.6 of the same book. I would imagine it is the same with Disney, but to a higher extreme. Chris Key master set-ups (original backgrounds of key scenes in the movie with accompanying cels) can run 10's of thousands (or more). The image below is listed at $29k on this site. There was an article in one of the animation art mags several years back hypothesizing on the 1st $1M animation art sale, and I believe the example they used was the image of the Wicked Witch in Snow White with the apple. Joe M (All Star Auctions) apparently has an incredible collection, and the current Heritage auction has some animation art so there is crossover between our hobbies. I'm about halfway to a complete set. Also out-of-print PlayStation RPGs, like "Valkyrie Profile," which is REALLY HARD TO FIND for less than $50. NBM's hardcover tarzans. all sporting event and concert ticket stubs. oh, and about 500 matchbook covers from restaurants and bars around the world.
