Didn't realize it until I posted it, but that was the last superhero book I purchased (2008) before fully embracing my addiction for the pre-hero issues.

 

This thread had me looking to see what I had left in the vault :)

Don't feel bad. I consider my FFs to be very pretty, and you've got two more slabbed 9.4s than I do!

Very nice books from the apotheosis of the run!

 

I'll admit that I had to Google the exact definition of "apotheosis" even though I had a pretty good inkling from the context.

 

I could spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express with a dictionary under my pillow and not be able to pull that one out. (worship)

 

Or was it on your "Word of the Day" calendar? :whistle:

It's only kinda new to me. I plucked it from "The Wonder Years", Mark Alexander's excellent work that was published as The Jack Kirby Collector #58.

To date my favorite article ever about the Kirby/Lee Fantastic Four.

Strongly recommended!

No joke. Might be the prettiest 5.5 I've ever seen. Sharp corners, nice spine, good PQ...what the hell? I see a little crease on Thing's right leg, but that's about it.

 

Maybe somebody stuck their gum on the back cover!
