Nik Manousaridis, friends call me Nik/Niko, sometimes malaka tongue.gif

Born in Greece came over to the States when I was 7, scared eless, pizz poor, leaving my friends, language and home behind. My uncle in Ohio gave me my first comic ever and it was just an instant bonding ever since.

38 years later, married (second time and final time) 3 terrific kids, by trade I am an Automotive Mechanic, self employed since 89. Lost the majority of my books in 81 because of a fire at my dads house.

I have no focus when buying, if its cool, I buy it. I have been buying OA since 89, which is my second love.

Loved comics when I was 7 and till this day, still do.

JUST SAYING, 'HELLO, MY NAME IS EARL' or whatever does'nt count.

Some of the Bios are very detailed, and that's nice..BUT just a few lines will also do.

Whatever you feel comfortable with, but just saying your first name, and stating most people already know you defeats the object.

The aim of this is to try and put everyone on a level playing field.

Don't assume you are that well known or important that everyone knows you, 'cos they don't! flowerred.gif

My name is Parker Hodges ... far more a reader than contributor on these boards, but it's not for lack of trying. I'm a quiet person offline, too.

I live in a suburb west of Minneapolis -- where I spent most of my childhood -- and am 42. Been married for 12 years. My wife and I started dating in '88 and moved in together in early '91. We've got a 9-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.

We're very happy with our life, which is quite hectic at times, and it seems unreal to both of us how old we are, how big our kids are and, simply, how fast time flies by.

Collected for a few years when I was young, but nothing major. Always loved comic books and the stories. Got back into it three or so years ago after I quit smoking and used the cash to buy comics instead.

Working on a Daredevil run, by far my favorite character. Like Strange Tales and some 70s Charlton cartoon character books.

I've been a newspaper reporter and, for the last 10 years, in new media as a writer, editor and producer of Web sites for local TV stations.

My job now is hard to explain. My company does all aspects of TV station news/weather web sites for 75 stations, including 48 of the top 50 markets. My job is akin to folks who, in the early 1950s, were figuring out the business model for a tv network, what the audience and advertisers wanted and creating it, measuring success and building on it.

Love my work and feel terribly lucky about my life given my wonderful wife, kids, family, friends and for liking my work.

My name is Sterling Smith, and I'm a 37 year old with a BA degree practicing computer science as a consultant for a relatively well named software company. I am married to my wife Rebecca, and I have three sons: Nathan, Parker, and Dalton. I have an Australian Sheppard named Auggie Doggie. My wife is a hopeless Chicago Cubs fan. I hate baseball. 27_laughing.gif

I've always lived in North Carolina, and while growing up lived in Raleigh, Kinston (home of Jamie Pressley--yahoo), and Snow Hill (population: ~1,000). So, for pirate and a few others I am well versed with East Carolina University. I currently live in Charlotte (future home of the Nascar Museum thingie). For those who can do it, go to the NC outer banks--I just came back from Ocracoke...very nice and relaxing if you are the kind of person with disdain for too much commercialism.

My interest in comics started when I was 5 or so when I got my first comic. Although I was careful about the comics I bought, most survived in VF shape as I learned the grading scales. Unless you haven't seen any of my posts horror is my thing...currently in the bronze age but will start shifting if I ever complete my collection. I didn't get back into collecting until 2001 when I discovered eBay, CGC, and these boards. I've done dozens of boards transactions and have never been dissatisfied!

I fell on the boards by doing a google search on my eBay handle and found out that dam60 (now an Overstreet Advisor) was talking about how much I jacked up the bidding on a Ghosts #2 CGC 9.4. The rest is history. (BTW Dan, I finally got my copy!).

That's an amazing museum! I was there for an entire day and only saw a small portion of it!

West

Thanks West.

I like to think I've improved it somewhat since I took over. thumbsup2.gif

Russ Cochran emailed me out of the blue last month, and said he would be honoured to be associated with it.

That was a big thrill for me.

Scroll down if you want the short version:

My name is Bill Tammany, 31, from Long Island, NY. I am married to my wife Jennifer and have 2 kids, Logan (I am a big Wolverine fan as well as Hulk Fan) (4 1/2) and Laurel( she wouldn't go for Mariko) (3). I began collecting comics in the late eighties and early nineties.

I worked in the restaurant industry all my life and am currently the GM at Hooters...it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it...

I have boxes of "drek" and stopped collecting about 2 years after the new McFarlane Spider-Man series came out.

During that time I started collecting toys and got into the Star Wars figure game when it was hot...I was that *spoon* that waited outside the stores and could look up at the box on the shelf and tell you what figures were in it by the #'s on the side of the box. I made a bunch of money buying $5.00 Leia in Slave Girl cloud9.gif figures and selling them for 15.00 when everyone else had them for 25.00 at the Amok Time Toys shows in NY...after Star Wars cooled off, I got out of the "toy biz"...too bulky and focused on college, work and my relationship with my now wife.

After we bought a house and I was going through my comics I decided that I would like to complete my "Valiant" collection with all the variants...that's when I stumbled upon Greg Hollands Valiant Website (BTW check it out if you haven't...it's awesome valiantcomics.com

I went to my LCS, cleaned them out of the Valiants and made a bunch of scratch selling doubles on ebay (billandedsdeals ebay ID) as Valiants were hot again

My father and I decided to invest in some silver age keys when I discovered "CGC"

I sent in my first book, an Incredible Hulk 181 (came back 9.4 ow/w) and thought I had a gold mine waiting in my boxes of old books...

My next submission taught me that I had no clue how to grade foreheadslap.gif (BTW if anyone wants some 9.0 modern X-men books, let me know...lol

After being roasted on my first post and lot's of research I decided to collect only pedigrees of my favorite character the Hulk.

The short version:

Name: Bill Tammany, married 2 kids

From: Long Island, NY

Collect: Pedigreed CGC 9.4 or better on the following

1) TTA 59-101

2) Hulk 102-145

3) Silver Age Hulk appearances

4) High grade CGC Hulk Prototype issues cloud9.gif
