Captain Boomerang is one of my biggest guilty pleasure rogues. He is a complete doofus, and someone that throws boomerangs doesn't seem like he would be much of a threat the the Flash, but for some reason I think the character is cool.

 

That's because Captain Boomerang is cool, very cool! He's one of Julius Schwartz's greatest creations.

One thing you quickly realize when collecting SA Flash is that every ten digits you drop and get harder and harder to fine these books above VG/beaters.

 

Oh don't I know it! I have enormous holes in my Flash collection below #127.

I haven't been around much over the last month. I have been concentrating a bit more on OA lately and purchased my last book over 6 months ago. I will travel 5663.8 miles (I looked that up) to Wondercon next week and will definitely pick up some Flash or Mystery in Space over there!

Here's my latest addition (from 6 months ago) to my Flash collection:

One of my newest Flash issues, picked up in the VCC (thanks, innocuous!), this is the first appearance of Abra Kadabra, but that's not why it's special to me. As a DC collector, for many titles it's likely impossible for me to complete a set, even in low grade like I usually buy. So I set a partial goal of all the issues cover-dated within my lifetime. Well, this was the last issue I needed of Flash.

 

So, Flash now joins Superboy, Superman, and World's Finest - not that I'm not still looking for lower issues!

The Thompson #113 is an absolute beauty. I would of loved to own it and I think it is worth every penny it went for, but there are too many other books I want so I stopped bidding at about $1k.

I recently passed on a Flash #117 CGC 9.2 Savannah pedigree that was on CC forever, but they were nitpicking when it came time to compromise on a price, so I said screw them. :sumo: They only wanted to come down $100, which to me was a slap in the face. (tsk)

 

I therefore set out for a replacement and came across this Flash #113 beauty and had to have it! :cloud9: The Savannah #117 had CR/OW pages so I'm not hurt at all. So I'm done with Flash books for now, unless I can get a Showcase #4! :wishluck: So your good to go! (thumbs u

 

I believe the last copy in this grade sold for ~$3.5K, so this was a steal! :P

I want to see a group shot of all those sweet books when you have a chance.

 

I will post some of my latest Flash acquisitions soon. I have an order coming from Metro that has 4 more raws for the collection and then i'll post a group shot. I am going to need to make a list soon, but I think I am about 25% complete or so in my SA Flash run now.

This is my first Don and Maggie copy and I hope it won't be the last. From what I have seen the Don and Maggie books remind me of the Twin Cities pedigree, very fresh and bright.

Yeah I agree, The Don & Maggie Thompson collection has a very nice array of many key titles with overall great quality! :headbang: I'm very pleased with my new acquisitions. :cloud9:

I can however share my one Thompson pedigree I won and am very happy with.
