There was someone else collecting playing card covers on the boards maybe ten years ago. I seem to recall them selling up at some stage, but there might be some useful posts for anyone compiling a list. I'll see what I can find.
Edit: It was @PokerKid and one thread is here
And a few more here

I grew up reading Australian reprints of the classic Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge stories, which remain my favourite comics to this day. The first time I was in the US I went to Lee's Comics in Palo Alto for a browse around. That's where I saw my first ever Dells. In a bargains box I found copies of Uncle Scrooge #12 and #13 and a WDC&S #142. They were all low grade, but they were a thing of beauty to me and I couldn't buy them fast enough. #12 has the story 'The Golden Fleecing' and #13 'Land beneath the ground' - two classic Barks tales. I felt like Scrooge when he found his first gold nugget in the Klondike! These days I have all of the Dell/Gold Key Scrooge run and most of the WDCS in much better shape, but I still wish I'd held onto those copies - without them I doubt I'd be on these boards. The other thing I bought that day was the latest Thor, because the cover looked interesting: it was #337

No mastic gun in sight for @Get Marwood & I but we do have Niagara Falls and a barrel.

I wasn't exactly sure how to word this, but I mean things like Christmas, Halloween, angels, demons, witches, vampires, mummies, gods/myths, etc. These are just examples. It can be something specific such as covers that have a photorealism art style or something broader like covers that make you laugh.

I also collect "Flying over Niagra Falls in a barrel whilst fixing a loose fascia board with a mastic bonding gun" covers. It's quite a small group
Pics or it doesn't exist!

That's an awesome book; can you imagine finding that under the Christmas tree with that great Barks tale leading off the book?! You would read the pages off of it! How big is an Australian jumbo book?

Actually I'm past the 500 with those, so I haven't posted a lot of scans I've done. I've just decided to create other "volumes" under the Australian Disney Comics heading, but maybe I'll stop work on that now in the hope that the limit will be increased. Thanks for raising this Steve.

I received a package from Heritage 2 weeks ago. $185 usd to ship a 15 lb box - 1 slab and 32 raw books. I don't believe I will bid there again.
I wish my last box from Heritage had only been US$185. I'm out for good.

This thread will be super-awesome-entertaining right up until the moment when someone calls out a seller for redonculous grading and it turns out to be a boardie, resulting in much rage and a swift locking. If we're lucky I'd give that about four days.

I hit the Don Heck book too hard ... I had it at 2.5 I gave the Avengers a 7.5 But it was Diary Secrets that really threw me I scored it a 4.0...those staple tears, I was left wondering if the cover was partially detached.
Exactly my thoughts. I thought the general wear was in the 5.0 range but the staple tears would pull it down. CGC used to really hammer that sort of structural issue. Maybe not so much these days?

Right on track for 8th to 12th place! My plan is progressing perfectly.
You take the high road and I'll take the low road... Right now I'd kill for 12th place.

That’s right — I’ve learned from my mistakes. Any more books with slices out of the top? I’ve got my 8.5s all revved up.
Too soon Jon. Too soon.
