  1. @Miketimus_Prime "One of my books has a hairline crack" @NickiO CS "These are considered normal and acceptable."
  2. I'd never have CCS press my books, but with their track record, long TATs wouldn't be why.
  3. Wow. There's so much in this post that tells me my opinion of CGC is correct.
  4. Classic brain fart on my part. Sorry for the confusion.
  5. this does not compute How many times have you read the word 'prioritize' here?
  6. I was under the impression that there was no longer a 2 week window. You might want to clarify one way or the other. This is a quote from a CGC administrator here...Posted December 8, 2022 "So, I have been speaking with management about the 2 week window for ME's. I do have some good news. This pertains to all books. You do not have to be the submitter, and there is no time limit. You can fill out a submission form with the Mechanical Error option. A prepaid shipping label will automatically be sent to you. (Non US customers will have to contact customer service for the shipping label) We will fix books listed below for free in the "Fix for no charge" column. FIX NO CHARGE: Wrong label information Book inserted wrong Book pinched between inner well seal Debris inside holder REHOLDER/REPAIR FEE: Holder scratches Cracked/damaged holders Damaged books"
  7. CGC would get the books back, wouldn't they? Because nobody to sign for them?
  8. Disagree. Maybe my definition of what is 'uncommon' is different than yours. I certainly wouldn't say you get notes 100% of the time, but no way is it common for a 7.0 to not get any notes.
  9. Although MEs are not really a source of revenue (of course, one could argue that the lack of care/quality during the whole process is a big money saver), it's clear that they are not given the priority that they deserve. It's also very clear that the higher-ups at CGC have determined that the cost of improving quality far outweighs the cost of fixing these MEs. After all these years, it's so obvious (to you, me, and CGC) that better QC is needed, yet they have made the decision not to do that.
  10. I just received a 'Comic Book Recommendation' email from CL. Is this something new?
  11. I'm curious... We're always told to write ME on the package so that (as we've been told) they can remove them from shipping so as to expedite them. It's still taking weeks to enter them into the system. I'd be curious to know how long non-ME submissions are taking to get entered into the system.
  12. Does "The Official CGC Guide to Grading" give any insight? I don't own one, but I would think it would say something about this.
  13. OMG! A month? Remind me why are people instructed to write ME on the box?
  14. I've never heard of a partial submission going missing/being lost. The closest thing that I can think of is that guy from a few months ago who had 1 of his books (from a submission of 5 books) replaced with a different copy.
  15. Welcome to the wonderful of CGC. Where, as the saying goes, shiite happens. And happens. And happens some more. But not to worry. They'll send you a free label.
  16. I've seen this argument go on and on for years here. It's always the same ... person A says, "Using Media Mail is wrong and here's why..." person B replies, "No. It's ok to use Media Mail, and here's why..." I don't recall anyone ever saying, "Yeah, I know it's against the rules, but I don't care."
  17. There is absolutely no way that these guys could be deliberately delaying the progress of MEs. After all, they're making tons of money on them ... oh, wait.
  18. I usually just don't respond to lowball offers. Now & then, I might counter with a reduced price (10% - 20%). Some jerks will counter that by adding $1 to their original offer. If I'm feeling frisky, I'll send them a message with some slightly colorful language.
  19. +1 But CGC doesn't care. They don't seem to care about anything (except their bottom line). If all the top dogs at CGC have this "don't give a ___" attitude, why are people giving them their business?
  20. People questioning whether or not to submit to CGC due to QC issues. Not a good look for them. Doubt they really give a hoot, though.
