I had a good friend back in the early 80's who said he

saw Fantastic Four 1 in Leave it to beaver. I looked for years never did I see this and today I found it on the 1985 Leave it to Beaver. At 10.00 there is more. At 12.40 its mint.

Perhaps these have made an appearance here before, but that's 110 pages to go through....

I came across these in the last HA photography auction.

Bernice Abbott - 1935

John Albok - 1937

That kid on the right reads his comics exactly the way I did when I was his age.

Imagine if you were the collector who lent your FF 1 to them for the movie. I'd be like whoa easy there Mrs. Cleaver, it's not a copy of Better Homes & Gardens your flapping around there. I doubt it's the real thing, maybe, but that book looks pretty minty.

The book would have been around 20 years old. I think it was 300-600-900 in the guide so even a mint copy would have been pennies compared to making the movie. I also don't think they had copy machines that good back then.

Yeah you're probably right. I've heard Jerry Mathers doesn't work cheap.

Silver Streak Comics #19 (March 1942) / Captain Marvel Adventures #7 (Feb 1942)

Ha!  I got the Captain Marvel Adventures already, but never would've guessed the Silver Streak.  Nice.  Thanks!
