BB-Gun
Here is an Atlas western by Baker. b
BB-Gun
I forgot to mention that the scan was from Atlas Tales. They have several by Baker but this one really looks like his work. I had to shrink the scan down quite a bit in order to post it here. It is probaly still too large. As my friend used to say "Where is the Chick?" but it is a good splash. bb
comicnoir
Thnx for the great comments. I brought my TLP11, after picking it up on ebay, to show my friend Steve at a con. I also brought some comics to trade and sell to Harley Yee. Planets, Marvel superhero- nice stuff. After Harley caught a glimpse of the TLP at the bottom of my case- which I wasn't going to show- he shoved the other comics aside and said "what's this?", immediately wanting to purchase. I said no and he disgruntedly did a deal for the others. I went over to see Steve and a crowd including Roy, who had just bought a JIM83. Steve said bring out the Baker. Everybody stopped and oohed and aaahed. Another copy from the same seller showed up on ebay next week and Roy lucked out- I'd been looking for a nice one for years. I'm also the artist who did the Superman/Baker homage on pg. 8. I'm working on another one. As for the comicconnect PR17 going for $750.00, last year I was an underbidder on a raw 9.0 that went for $600.00. Much nicer than the slabbed 7.0. Oh well. JvR11
More Baker romance on ebay. Not my copy but I like the cover. bb I believe this is the last cover needed to complete the St. John romance section on GCD. It's a hard one to come by. I believe that Baker used Katherine Hepburn as a model reference on this one.
adamstrange
More Baker romance on ebay. Not my copy but I like the cover. bb I don't think I've seen a Baker romance cover I dislike!

I believe that Baker used Katherine Hepburn as a model reference on this one. I plugged the cover into GCD. I think it went in. The list seems to be complete now but they still need a few upgrades. Are all of the other St. Johns Romance comics covers complete and Authentice Police case? bb
BB-Gun
Comics from the romance box. The Baker romance covers stack up pretty good compared to other genre. I never owned several of these but I did have some extra scans. Edited March 18, 2009 by BB-Gun

BB-Gun
Nice Shot BB, there are quite a few of those I'd love to have. I would like to get a few more Baker covers too. I think the Cinderella love would be nice to have and I could use that Teen Age Romance in the top row. I could probably afford another Phantom Lady if I sold some of the issues that I have. bb Maybe there is another rare Canadian issue with a cover like this. I have only seen one based on All Top 8 posted on another thread. Not like this one but still it seemed to be real. This isn't.

comicnoir
I briefly owned a Canadian edition of Phantom Lady17 with all the interior but a hideous cover- so I got rid of it. At least I got to read the comic before it went away.
seank
I was at dinner with the wife last night and I mentioned romance comics. She's been married to a comic-book fan for 15 years. Her response was, "They made romance comics? Like for women?" When we got home I showed her my copy of Teen Age Romance. She looked at it for about three times as long as other books get, which is six seconds as opposed to two.
BB-Gun
My wife liked romance comics when she was young. I knew a couple of other girls that liked Spooky and Lulu. A little Baker original art that was on sale at Comiclink. I glued the two together and removed a stain with Photoshop. I hope it looks a little better. bb

seank
My first Baker romance book. As I said in the cigar thread, this one was overgraded and I overpaid, but I really don't care. I couldn't find any sales on Heritage or eBay and not copies for sale on Comiclink or Metro. Plus, the book gets singled out in The Ten-Cent Plague on page 161.
