Totally appreciate it @Gump24601🤘
It has been a trip that’s for sure.
Btw coming from a gent who has a 9.8 SS TMNT #1! 🙇‍♂️ and I believe the first 9.8 SS TMNT #1 🙇‍♂️

I totally get your question not crazy at all. I have actually thought about through the years upon owning my 9.6 #1. There would still only be one book, my first print #1. Since I have been blessed through the years with many cool/unique SS books from Boardies, eBay, auctions. Furthermore, I’m so fricken grateful how many Laird’s I have! Obviously the ratio of Kevin and Peter sigs or especially just Peter sigs vs Kevin’s….are far less.

If I had a magic wand, it would be to have, Eastman AND Laird both sign it (no sketches) in white and they would be on the back cover. My first choice is both signing on the bottom. (Hope you don’t mind, I used your book🤤 to show what I was thinking) But if they needed more room, than top.
I don’t think I could risk it, I haven’t pulled the trigger since 2014 and don’t know if ever could. If somebody has a magic wand (that works 100% of the time 60% of the time lmk!!) 😂

Having well placed signatures on the back sounds awesome. Not sure I have seen anyone else do that yet? Great concept but probably best to get extra copies for that rather than risk cracking opening existing ones??

It sounds like Peter Laird's signature is in big demand lately. Perhaps I should keep my signed TMNT vol 4 issue #29 after all

He doesn't sign a lot that I know of, a keeper yes, but I'm glad you're satisfied (thumbsu

It would be hard for me to decide what to do with, so whatever you go with I'm just happy if you're happy!

Hello @ADAMANTIUM Well I haven't managed to sell it yet but I am patient. If it doesn't sell I am more than happy to keep it though. It is currently displayed in my Mirage comic room (a small box under the stairs!)

Lol, certainly don't have enough for one of those nowadays ... I'd probably need an actual (and full) vat to sell now to get one! 😂

Appreciate it @Icculus308win 🥰 - I wasn't the first 9.8 SS and I hope I'm not the last!

I'm actually of the same opinion regarding signatures: I'd probably be seen as mental but I would really like Peter's sig on the #1. Again, I'm far too late to the game but still hold out hope he does a local con or maybe like a 40th anniversary celebration at Jetpack - I'd be there with bells on!

So many ways to skin a cat. A white marker would really be in keeping with the colours of the 1st-3rd print of #1. With mine having gold marker on the front used I'll have to keep with that theme, but if I had my time again white would have been a great choice!

I do have Peter's sig on other books but on the #1 would be the ultimate for me!

Shoot I thought you were the first. 2nd? No matter what - you have an SS and I don’t 😂🏆

You are totally sane and more so, totally awesome thinking that. That would be so cool. I feel there is always hope 🤘
Totally keep with the gold on your book, it is badazz. I’m glad you approve of the white.

It has come the time….a time that I never knew when would happen, let alone “if” it would ever happen. But it has arrived actually and finally here - adding the last 9.8 issue to my TMNT Volume #1 Registry set!:acclaim:
A feat I can’t believe I have achieved. A feat that honestly, I thought others would have achieved well before me. It was just a surreal feeling adding this book into the Registry and so weird being technically done with creating a 9.8 set. Really hasn’t even sunk in. (Nor do I want it to yet)

The issue, is not just any ol book either, but the historically insanely tough #28! Another brutally unforgiving black cover (I have created three of the 9.6s that are floating around in the census/world) This book, for me, was top 3 hardest TMNT books for me to acquire in 9.8. I never would have one if it wasn’t for @Turtle back in March :foryou:
He parted with his  #28, which at the time was one of of the two 9.8 28s. A book he was OO and sent it in to get slabbed, achieving an extremely rare 9.8 grade.
So I can’t thank-you enough Adam for what you did. Honored to have your #28 and beyond grateful that this book is the one that completes my Registry set - Thank-you my man! 🏆

My 9.8 TMNT Set:)

What a great story! CGC will start putting from the @Icculus308wincollection on your slabs!

I had such a hard time finding a 9.8 Leonardo.  I was looking for years when I was putting a run together.  No exaggeration, I have probably submitted and subsequently sold 10 different copies of Leonardo that came back 9.6.  In fact, the copy I have was a wedding present from a friend...so I STILL haven't found a 9.8 copy in the wild.

What awesome people you are! TMNT comics for wedding presents and other gift ideas. You know how to do it! I don't know anyone who'd do that. So cool

A thing of beauty that set! 😍

So with the hunt finally being complete and successful, what's next? It's strange, the hunt is secondary to the books themselves and I think you might feel a little lost now that the search is over. That's how I'd feel with the collecting bug anyway - I'd be onto the next pursuit, lol!

One the topic of 9.8s, I'm scratching my head a little why #47's GPA is so high, greater than say a #3 or #4? I get there a Sakai story but no FAP for example - what am I missing here?

The hunt is easily the biggest thing with comics, at least for me. So yeah, gonna be a little forlorn for a spell 😂 I’m still hunting books for my Ben Bowie, Smokey Bear and my Gold Key One Shots set - so those will always keep me in the comic realm.
Past three years both my sons have been into collecting graded NBA cards. Each year they are more into it, so a lot of my “hunting” has turned into hunting cards for them for bdays & Christmas. I have to say, it has been just as fun.

As for TMNT #47…..Space Usagi? 😂

I know, I know, I know :insane:

Btw TMNT collectors/fans without @pubmonkey encouragement  and helping find/acquire some key books for me like…..GEE #13 comes to mind!! :foryou: (Still only 3 blue and 1 SS 9.8 in census) I don’t think I would have tried completing the whole set in 9.8s.
Add the friendship which started upon his last couple books for the #1 in all prints Grandslam for the #1 spot that first year in 2013. Started talking about him closing it out. Was excited as he was lol
Than it just evolved as you had that #1 spot over the years and here you were helping me with my set during those years :headbang:
If it wasn’t for you my man (And your love of Groo (Pacific:) I don’t think my set would be like it is, nor remotely done in March of 21
🤘🏆🤗

It is obvious these books are in the best hands, though I am a tad green with envy :)

The set is hands down the nicest I've seen, and the nicest around for sure. You're a classy fella, giving props to the many turtley awesome boardies who helped make it happen. I was looking through my turtle slabs, sketches, and raws last night and thought of those that made it happen as well. We have a great community here!! That 28 is definitely tough! A big big congrats!!!
