Went thru the weirdest collection this week.

Guy said 50 boxes.

I'm thinking he means long or short comic boxes.

A guy bought issues each week and would leave them in the comic store bag.

Then throw the full bag into copy paper boxes. You can get an amazing amount of comics into those boxes and they are quite heavy.

Tons of porn.

Beyond that, pretty much each week of comics from the 1990s up to 2010.

More than 50 boxes for sure.

Though I picked up some great books, I found myself spending more time creating a huge pile for him. Kind of bored with hoarding some of the issues and thought he could use the help.

Pile ended up being a nice load of cash for the guy. He only had one issue of Nyx and it was luckily #3. Virtually all the 1st Hellboy books. The early Avatar Illustrated with Goon. Tons of the 97 Deadpools. Capes with the 1st Preview of Walking Dead. So on and so on.

Toughest part is that the issues are in no order beyond what week they came out. Guy has a tough road ahead.

Pretty fun to look thru though.

Patrick

He's still not going to give you a resale discount, he knows what he has.

First off, he doesn't know I'm a reseller. Secondly, he most certainly does NOT know what he has. The ASM #300 was $300 and not even an 8.5...

1) dealers smell like dealers. It's unmistakeable.

2) he might not have known what the book was worth, but he knows it's a key, and isn't going to give it away.

ROTFL! No way, my friend. I show up with no comic book clothing on at all with my family in tow. I talk & act like a collector and am not just interested in the comics. Nice try, though. :foryou:

Obviously he knows it's a key and he has an Overstreet he looks up pricing in, but he hasn't a clue about grading and what the current market is on anything.

Look, you can argue with me all you want but you weren't there and didn't "experience" how this guy handles himself and his business. You'd be put off, as well.

Just made my first big collection purchase after getting back into the hobby about a year ago. This came from Craigslist. A nice 63 year old guy that was downsizing his house and everything else. About 10 minutes from my house. Quite an eclectic collection (probably every Man Thing ever produced for example), he purchased everything off the rack, no subscriptions as most of my original collection was obtained. Extended runs of Spidey, Daredevil, FF. Tons of Marvel Team Up, Two in One, etc. As you can see, a solid low to mid grade collection not properly stored. Can you say spine roll? On to the highlights. Lots of DC as well which I still need to go through and educate myself on!
