Been making some great contacts with some new local dealers and was able to trade a long box and short box of what he wanted from me for five long boxes from him. He initially wanted to offer them to me for $50 - $100, per box, in trade and he got around $350 in trade from me. He took around 30 of my books that I had marked over $1.00 to around $5.00 and the rest dollar books. I see some from him where I will make up the 30 he took and the rest will go into my dollar book boxes. He didn't need what he brought me and was happy to get what he got from me. We have done smaller trades in the past, but this turned out great and wants to keep doing great business.

There are many things better than cover price:

Free is better than cover price.

Hell, paying me to take it would be better than cover price & even better than free.

Paying me to take it, along with a harem of hot women & a giant stack of all of the Golden/Silver/Copper/Bronze & Modern books that I want.

All of those are better than paying cover price.

I like the way you think.

Those are filing cabinets.

I have the skinnier versions that can only fit 2 rows instead of 3 or 4. I've been considering stripping mine back down & spraying them as well. That black looks really clean.

I'm not going to put books in it yet.

There is still a slight paint smell so I don't want the books to absorb it

The top two rows haveroom for three Rows of slabs... Fits CGC and the other company's slabs if I still them straight up. the bottom row might fit slabs is I lay them flat

Just Finished painting this.

$5 at an auction. was ugly purple. now a good place to store my Slabs or Books.

I just need to find way to put up some small internal walls

I have to vertical legal size cabinets. I just use thick pieces of cardboard as dividers. Might be tought to find one piece that long unless you live in an apartment building or something similar. Two rows fits perfectly.

Satisfying deal done today. Had a guy reply to my CL ad over a week ago and say that he had a box of comics that his dad had but his dad passed away a few years ago. He saw my ad and let me know, but in conversation also said he'd be open to cash or trade. Apparently he likes to barter. I asked him what he was looking for and he said among things like a lawn mower & household stuff that he'd like a game system for his kids for Christmas. Welp, we have a Wii with tons of games & accessories that nobody around here uses anymore so I suggested that. He was on-board, but we ended up playing "meet-up tag" where his schedule was never free enough for him to meet me...until today. Turns out his dad didn't have them from childhood like I'd assumed (and hoped), but had gotten them from an estate sale some years back. It's definitely a weird mix of books, but I made out quite well.

...and the oddity of the group is this 1975 Creation Con Program. I've never seen one before. Neat stuff!

My LCS was having a pre-Thanksgiving sale today, so I walked out with a few cheap "want-list" wonders and other odds and ends...

Anybody out there have a copy of Phantom Stranger #23 for sale? I remember reading parts of Wolfman & Kaluta's "Spawn of Frankenstein" back in the '70s, but this lot was missing the first installment...
