Actually I went back after I bought it, and found the sister of the gentleman who passed away. I asked about his collection and she said they had more that were kept out of the estate sale. I ended up helping them bring it to auction at Heritage. So - yeah, I got a good deal at the beginning, but in the end I think I helped them out and paid it back a bit.

Yard sale find...$50. Mainly 80's ASMs 190-280 or so plus other short runs. No bags or boards - it had been sitting in an attic for decades, but decent shape. I left a similar box of 80s FF there...kinda kicking myself now.

From what I saw, there was nothing even remotely recognizable in that box

Ok, but that’s not what happened to @Ozonetv.  Sounds like they paid the $1 a piece the sale wanted.  So, no problem in my eyes.  No one got ripped off.

I asked the price, they said $1 a book for this box...I paid $130 without even looking :-)

once he gets denigrated for these, he'll show us pictures of the 6 af15s and then after that come the early DC!

No AF15s, early DC, but some TMNT OA and signed prints:

Get a call from a guy - he's in over his head with thousands of comics. Doesn't have a store, trying to list lots on ebay via auction. New Baby. Wife not happy.

Buy 7 boxes for $150 - about 1000 all up.

Mostly 'manga with odds and ends'

Got a friend to pop in to check the chap is on the level as seller is interstate - the guy is honest, he has books everywhere - I do the deal. 

Find these 3 in first box. Rest is gravy now.
