Actually, I think it's Ulysses Armstrong aka The General. Not sure when Tim first put on the costume.

 

But the suit was worn earlier by Jason Todd in Countdown to Final Crisis.

Yeah I've been enjoying the heck out of red robin since it started I did not read anything before the red robin series it self though I may have to check this out ... I duno what it is with batbooks but they are hot these days even I am reading them & I generally t end to stick with just lantern stuff for dc... (aside from red robin that is... )

 

I've been reading the new batman stuff as well as batgirl & will check out the new BW as well...

I am loving all the batman family stuff. Gotham city sirens has cooled off some for me but it started out great. Red robin has been great, batman & robin has been good, azrael started slow but has gotten good to bad it is ending soon. I have been loving batgirl too. Right now I don't think you can miss reading the batman universe stuff.

No brainer of the week: Skull Kickers #3 is already out of print & at least a short term monster. Prices of #1 bottomed out but are on the rise again. The book has been slowly building an audience. It’s a different crowd. Younger kids think it’s hilarious.

Hmmm, #2 sat on the racks forever at my main LCS (#1 was sold out within 30-40 minutes of opening), but there were plenty of copies of #3 on the rack last wed when I bought mine (about 2 hours after opening), though most had some dingage, so maybe people passed on them. I'll stick with it a while longer (as the profits from my #1 basically paid for 1.5 - 2 years worth of issues...). The cashier did however make a comment about the book being a good read, pizzed someone cleaned them out of #1s 2 months ago, etc., so i think maybe the buzz is coming back on it.

 

Morning Glories seems to be dead there. 3 and 4 have sat languishing and he didn't order THAT many copies of either (unless he had an extra long box in the back).

 

Almost every week something new and interesting is coming out, but I can't be plunking down $3-$5 just for fun, not when I can buy overstock TPBs and HCs for that price, not to mention the usual cheap overstock comics for $1 or less.

 

As a collector, this is my problem. I feel that WD deserves my $3, maybe Chew, as good reads, and I buy True Blood for my wife, and maybe something else now and then. But as a vintage collector my LCSes toss some good stuff out there for $3-$5, sharp copies of BA books, etc., not to mention a decent dollar box selection,, so it's hard to justify dropping an extra $10 a week on trying different moderns.

No brainer of the week: Skull Kickers #3 is already out of print & at least a short term monster. Prices of #1 bottomed out but are on the rise again. The book has been slowly building an audience. It’s a different crowd. Younger kids think it’s hilarious.

Hmmm, #2 sat on the racks forever at my main LCS (#1 was sold out within 30-40 minutes of opening), but there were plenty of copies of #3 on the rack last wed when I bought mine (about 2 hours after opening), though most had some dingage, so maybe people passed on them. I'll stick with it a while longer (as the profits from my #1 basically paid for 1.5 - 2 years worth of issues...). The cashier did however make a comment about the book being a good read, pizzed someone cleaned them out of #1s 2 months ago, etc., so i think maybe the buzz is coming back on it.

 

Morning Glories seems to be dead there. 3 and 4 have sat languishing and he didn't order THAT many copies of either (unless he had an extra long box in the back).

 

Almost every week something new and interesting is coming out, but I can't be plunking down $3-$5 just for fun, not when I can buy overstock TPBs and HCs for that price, not to mention the usual cheap overstock comics for $1 or less.

 

As a collector, this is my problem. I feel that WD deserves my $3, maybe Chew, as good reads, and I buy True Blood for my wife, and maybe something else now and then. But as a vintage collector my LCSes toss some good stuff out there for $3-$5, sharp copies of BA books, etc., not to mention a decent dollar box selection,, so it's hard to justify dropping an extra $10 a week on trying different moderns.

 

I agree with alot of your points here. Skull kickers sat after issue 1 here locally. I think I can still get a 2 if I look around and as of last night 5 issues of 3 were on the rack with one guy looking at it.

 

MG 4 here is sitting in my one LCS because he ordered heavy and alot of the books are damaged. I couldnt find a NM- to buy so I bought a VF+ just to read it.

The other local sold out, but didnt order as heavy.

 

I have said this before its no brainer between MG and Skull kickers. I would sell all my 1s I could have SK and hold a few copies of MG until the trade hits. Its content versus flash between the two. MG wins hands down. Sets of MG 1-3 sell very well while skull kickers 1 is $5-15 depending on the seller. MG Sets of 1-4 are selling for up to $60 currently and look for them to continue to rise till the trade hits then all bets are off. See Mike's theory on long versus short term cycles.

 

True Blood and WD sell very well still and Chew has a small but loyal audience now hoping a movie works out. The WD buzz had generated back sells as well locally you cant find an issue under 30 almost locally now.
