Just picked up a nice little MJV collection. 8 shorts full of (unfortunately) all DC Jewelers. I obviously wish this had been a Marvel collection, but he's still attached to those. I don't really know how I'm going to sell them yet or even what the market is but it seemed like a fun little side project to take on.

Any Metal Men or Joe Staton works in the collection there?

If Kirk's last name starts with a T, a decent amount of these originally came from him.

Oh right, it does from memory. Maybe he'd like to be reunited

"Overseas Diamond Sales" Insert???

I didn't see this post until now.  Belatedly, here is a picture of the insert.   This one is from an Iron Man #42.  I had asked about this apparently unusual insert 2.5 years ago!  Might as well try again.  Does anyone know the issues in which Overseas Diamond Sales inserts appeared, and where to find census estimates?

I believe that date range was April 1971 through April 1973.  I doubt there’s any remotely accurate census estimates of these books.

I guess I had a complete ASM military insert collection...:censored:

Actually, after looking a bit closer, that's just what the MVL 7-71 insert looked like. It still says "National Diamond Sales" on the inside centerfold. Whoever graded that one ASM #100 went off of the first ad, rather than the centerfold ad when they classified it as "Overseas". It's the same insert that's in all of them and are usually classified as National Diamond Sales.

That's 12 boxes of DC comics with the inserts? I have a HUGE MJI collection but closer to 12 issues of DC comics with the inserts...:roflmao:

My recollection - I don't have the books anymore - was that the NDS inserts had the same colour centre spread but a number of different front / back page variations.

This is the sticker image that I used to customise my books:

And as you can see from the images below, there are a number of variations on the other side pages, all of which have the full colour NDS centres:

What connects them is the leading National Diamond Sales two page colour ad, so that's what they should really be called.

Hopefully I've got that right.

So, are you saying that the variations happened within the same issue number of the comic(like a variant cover, or in this case a variant centerfold insert?)? Or that the variations happened over the course of the run of issues they were in(Like the Mark Jewelers inserts)? Like MVL 7-71 had an Overseas Diamond "outer" wrap and was in ASM #100, while MVL 1-72 had a different outer wrap, etc.?

I can only say that the variations exist in the NDS date window - I didn't ever go down the road of ascertaining whether different versions appeared in the same book. Being in the UK, it was hard enough for me to obtain NDS/MJIs in the first instance, let alone multiples for variation checking. Maybe @awe4one might be able to confirm this.

Well if you have any of the 8 MJ's that I need (Batman 245, 247, 390, Detective 470, 548, Superman 291, Action 579 or JLA 107) you could pretty much name your price!  :foryou:   They are getting really hard to find (I haven't found one that I really need in almost 2 years).

I wish DCs were as easy to find as Marvels. I need the $$$.
