Moderns that are heating up on ebay! 71 71

I'm so impressed with Uncanny X-Force, that not only did I go to every LCS in town and buy all the copies I could find of Fantomex's first and 2nd appearance (usually $2-$3), I also managed to find a #1 blank and snatched it up at cover price. Of course I have no idea what the ratio is on that one.

I understand people want it, but why is it listed on ebay from 125 -750? Is it really that hard of a book to find? My friend is looking to buy one the poor bastage stopped collecting gi joe at #150 .

Wait about 6 months until after the movie and blu-ray comes out,as it will go down in price. The same thing happens all the time when a big budget movie hypes the comics prices up. You actually can make some cash off this PHENOMENON if you know when to buy and sell.

Batwoman in Detective Comics is absolutely brillant and back issue sales support it. Rucka hit a home run with that storyline I loved it.

Found this while surfing the Market over at my website and while I know Spawn has it's own fan following and that issues after #50 are considered rare, I did not know that this also extends to hard cover tpb that collect multiple issues into a storyline.

Also, Uncanny X-Force #20 with the venom variant seems to be moving for about $40 according to eBay completed auction listings.

I would hardly say that issues after 50 are "rare." They just weren't produced in the massive #s of the first few years of the series. It's not like my LCS doesn't put out 10-15 copies of Spawn on the rack every month.

A view more moderns that are hot fresh off The Market webpage - Amazing Spider-Man #678 variant. I'm not a fan of the cover personally but like the idea of where it was going.

 

They seem to be closing at the $75 per copy range.

I read 5 issues the other day and was pretty impressed. Issue 9 with Magneto was great. The ending was impressive.

Vengeance of Bane has been pretty hot for the last 5 to 7 months!! But it's really been taking off lately!! When Raw Copies were hitting the $30 to $40 price a few months ago I thought it was going to stay at those prices until the New Batman Movie comes out.

 

Boy I was wrong about Raw Copies staying at around $30 to $40!! They've been consistently selling for around $60 to $90 in the last 2 months!!

Good stuff. The same thing happened to the Killing Joke in 2008. Every printing skyrocketed. Bane is following the pattern.

Bane Stuff

 

Heh. I have a back issue guy here in town, he bought a collection of about 250 long boxes a year ago. He has about 15 1st printing right now, and several second. I got 2 off him for $2 each, probably NM-.

 

I may need to go back and see if he has any left.

I dont want to sound like a debbie downer first of all. I want to state I'm a modern collector, I mostly love moderns but realizing in the grand scheme of things, making a flip from a modern comic doesn't seem like a big deal. Ok you might find a comic in a recluse comic book store for a couple bucks or you hear an tip on the internet about a new rare comic coming out and flip on ebay for what 50-60 then you gotta deal with ebay/paypal taking there chunk and the rarely of finding those books. Can/do people make a profit, let alone a living from modern comics? do those people really exist?
