I'm mostly looking for stuff with covers by Neal Adams (particularly foreign Batman #232s), Bernie Wrightson and Nick Cardy. Also Captain America or Krypto covers as well as Alan Class or L. Miller UK reprints that have Marvel covers.

 

 

 

Would you be interested in a low grade French batman 227 CGC SS (Adams',O'Neil's), for the raw Kaluta in the furthest upper right hand corner and the GL76?

First one prints Tec 408 + Tec 351 - Ebal - 1971 - Black + White

Second one prints Brave and the Bold 84 - Ebal 1974 - In colour

 

Main issue with both is rusty staples + the first 1 has a bit of spine damage.

I dont think Ches needs sleep... hes like a synthetic lifeform similar to the androids in the Aliens movies! With one driving directive, to amass the largest foriegn variant collection in the world! I used to try to surprise him with research on some far-out rare varaint info.... I think maybe I have shown him somthing he didnt already know about once. I´ll save one for you for sure. I wasn´t planning to show the modern hoard just yet, If I start trading them all right now, wont have anything to show for on my future Ebay thingy. Even though, after reading the horror stories from Ebay here on the boards, I´m not sure if it will be worth the trouble.

The argentinean 'El Tony' issues are one of my absolute favourites among the foreign issues. They were issued as supplements, and there's only 38 of them so it should not be impossible to complete a set sometime in the future (with these four, I now have 14), but after the supplements ended, Spider-man continued to be published directly printed in the El Tony magazine, sometimes making a small appearance on the cover. I don't know for how long this was, or how many El Tony issues there are to find, exactly. The research continues...

 

 

Beautiful work sir! Hadn't heard of the Argentinean "El Tony" issues? So, what keys are represented? Is there a 1st Kingpin by chance? What about a 129?

I am guessing you are a foreign collector? Gonza Arana roughly translates to crazy spider right?

 

Now, that looks like two versions of a Novaro detective 400 1st man-bat. I think the one you posted is the first Man-bat and the other one with the lasso/cape like title is a 2nd printing from the 80's or just the tec 400 cover and no insides? Thanks for the clarification!

 

Nice about that Tony 1st Kingpin... love to see a scan!

This is a great thread guys.

 

In 1980, my best friend moved back to England from Spain (English Dad, Spanish Mum). Anyway, he brought a big pile of Spanish comics with him, and just because they looked so cool (I couldn't read them), I traded some American and British comics for some of them.

 

Somewhere along they way, those books disappeared and I never really thought too much about them, until I read this thread. Man, I wish I'd kept them now

 

Most of them were Marvel reprints and very cool in terms of size and format. There was also an original Spanish comic called Mortadello y Filamon (Mort and Phil?). It was a humor comic drawn in an almost Peter Bagge style, but more detailed. I've never been able to find an English translation, although I believe it's still running in Spain. I'd love to know if any of you guys have ever come across this title.

 

In the meantime, keep 'em coming.
