Funny, it was only after I won the book did I notice what looks like some in-slab damage (top center). Maybe notes will tell me if that was there when slabbed (?).

Anyone know the history of this book- previous owners?

underbidder

I agree completely! The restored copy is a better buy than the brittle book.

It seems people are blinded by a blue label even if the book is brittle.

Oh, ok, I misunderstood-

I was going to say. I chased the Superman 8 up until the end. The book was an 8.5 Slight P that was reinforced and had some tear seals. To me, there is a difference between restoration and conservation.

I was the underbidder on that book.

Which is fine... I will keep the Nick Fury book and keep the radar on for one of the four books I am really still looking for.

Thanks guys. Had lots of fun yesterday, even though I was disappointed to lose out on every Golden Age book I wanted (in most cases, by a healthy margin). The Silver stuff at a discount was a nice consolation.

When you win any book you know it went for a new GPA low.

Guilty as charged.

it looked like it was going to be a strong night for GA early on. A Planet #71 CGC 8.5 3/4th best in census just went for $1100.

And I don't even think Cheetah is bidding on any of these.

:(. Too rich for my blood...
