Legion of Superheroes # 33 ? Any rumors on that quiet issue ?

Yes.

I doubt if any public announcement will come for a while. You never know

how these rumor things work, but it is a cool issue, and a rarely used

character. First appearances are always good to have in bulk in high grade.

Is the glossy version tougher to find?

Yes... but...

- the exact ratios have never been known.

- it's not clear if CGC gets the identification correct*.

* there are numerous cases where CGC has misidentified various Valiant gold variants which are clearly gold. It's hard to believe they would be good at identifying glossy vs. not-as-glossy but otherwise-identical.

The paper stock is different, it feels like sandpaper. I know, I have one that came back 9.8

There's a difference. Whether CGC consistently knows the difference is in question.

They often mislabel books where there is a variation... no matter how obvious.

For example, this is not a gold edition.

It is a literally worthless (9.2 is below average for this $1 book) common version: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131570773359

Rai 0 CGC 9.8 "Glossy" is going crazy on eBay.

Does anyone else find it odd that the last four sales, all by the same seller, sold for almost the exact same price at auction?

Another one just sold, by the same seller, for $174 again....Looks like a different winner.

Who were you comparing Stan Lee to when you made that crazy statement? What is it you look for in someone who writes pulp? Why do you think Stan Lee is one of the worst writers in comics? What the (bleep) did I just read?

I don't have any doubt that I can tell the difference (and if you think I never held one you're ridiculous). lol

I'm saying that I'm not confident that CGC will get the labeling correct every time, due to known errors like the worthless Bloodshot #0 that they labeled as "Gold Edition".

First and only CGC 10.0 Rai #0. ;)

labels can alway be corrected, if you don't have any confidence in thier labeling, how can you be sure your 10.0 is really a 10.0? Might have been mislabeled instead of a 9.8 or 9.9
