Some Friday mail love. Lucked into a group with this JD/Drug rarity that I didn't have. This just doesn't appear often. I'm sure the print run was low from a small sleaze publisher.

Then some very high grades with great cover art. 1984 is a 1st print and probably the sharpest front cover I've seen. Unfortunately there's a "bundling ding" on the back that looks like where bundling cord dented and bent the top of the back cover but It's still my new favorite copy of the several I've held on to over the years.

Uncredited but a beauty. Looks like one of the unidentified True Crime mag cover artists  I'm not usually stunned by sharp cornered books but this one could cut ya!

Last bunch. I think I like ONE FOR THE ROAD for its very 'American' feel. ANGELS has an obvious Richard Powers imitation cover! MADBALL is almost an exact reprint of the Gold Medal Edition with some cover text removed and a British title page.

Not a paperback but... part of a paperback digest sized series so...

I was lucky enough to acquire another copy of the first printing of the 1954 1st Edition of Charles Schulz' second Peanuts collection. Only the second one I've come across in over five years of searching. After pricing the 1952 first "Peanuts" softcover at $1.00, I think they decided to go for a hardcover at $1.50 and sold very few of the hardcover at that price so went to the second and later printings in softcover for $1.00 like the first collection and all subsequent Rinehart digest sized Peanuts collections.

After viewing hundreds of copies of the softcover "More Peanuts" on the web over the years, I've never seen the "R in circle" Rinehart first printing mark on a single one so I believe that the hardcover is the only "true" first printing of "More Peanuts"

I'm kicking this knowledge on this little thread because I'm pretty sure that my next attempt at publishing some information will be the 1st Print ID points on these digests.

The first editions/first prints are criminally misunderstood, unknown, underpriced and unavailable for such a monster property and worldwide fanbase.

Sidney Sime is best known for illustrating Lord Dunsany's stories and novels.  This is a nice sized paperback collection but it is unfortunate that the glue is getting old and pages are starting to seperate.

Picked off some rare 50's crime digests. Manhunt was the standard for these but they're almost all pretty common. These imitators are the ones to find. Suspect and Accused have better authors but Web Detectives are collected by crazy people who drive up prices 

The only cover art credit I have for ya is Robert Engle did the creepy GGA cover for Suspect Vol 1 No 3 June 1956

Lasted 5 issues. This one also has cool interiors by John Giunta and others.

Accused Vol 1 No 4  July 1956. The last issue.

July 1959 Vol 2 No 3. I give the full date first because this confusing series has two Vol 2 No 3 issues in a row. It doesn't get much more hard boiled than "Hot Slug- Cool Dame" Killer cover art doesn't hurt either.

Confusing barely covers it on that title.  I have a couple earlier issues that I'll try to scan, back when it was Saturn Science Fiction.  As compared to Saturn, Saturn Web Detective Stories, or Web Terror Stories.

The series is legendarily bonkers.

One or two of the later Terror Stories digest covers look like they were taken right off the Terror Tales or Horror Stories pulps.

The one I posted is the fifth detective issue and first one that doesn't have "Saturn" in the title. I guess for some reason they kept the Vol & No the same as the last to launch it with a new title for some copyright reason  Anyway, a fun set of digests and another reason to regret opening my wallet for this because now I want more

A recent Atlas digest pickup (H) paired well with one I already had (D), and contemplating the two made me wonder if any other Treat 'alphabet' books existed in cool pb editions... So I got these:
The B cover is a bit tame, but Bonded is a fun series with a distinctive feel and published in Hollywood.
Q has one of those semi-surrealistic covers with an awesome palette that were a Dell specialty.
T comes on strong with Raymond Johnson's luridly dramatic close-up cover: Avon calling.
