I’d like to compare it to a copy of it since this is an odd size, and whether it includes the pages that were redrawn by Barks. If anybody has a copy of US&DD #1 handy and can snap pics of the 1st couple spreads (inside front cover and first 3 pages), I’d appreciate it for additional research... I only learned of it this year, but I was wowed by the overall dimensions and linen (!) pages in-hand (even putting aside the high-quality art/colors throughout). There was an EBay auction last year. They had a number of pop ups but I didn't win them. I did manage to pick up a small story book about Anartic penquins based on a Silly Symphony. 50YrsCollctngCmcs Posted August 1, 2021 Share Posted August 1, 2021 (edited) I picked up an upgrade copy of Uncle Scrooge 17 at the Torpedo Comic Con last weekend from @MrBedrock and got a chance to read it today. Great Barks tale of battling the Blutopians in the South Pole for control of a rare element. At this point Uncle Scrooge was still a quarterly publication so Barks likely had some good time to devote to these tales. The landscape views of the South Pole are really well done. A short Gyro tale wraps up the issue and is pretty funny too. What a great comic for your dime back in 1957! And the cover is fun too with Daisy Duck playing the fortune teller.
