There appears to be a real rush to the exits in the upcoming Signature Auction.  Not GA, but in the previews I just counted 4 issues of JLA #1 in 8.5, 8.0, 8.0 and 7.0, respectively, and 3 issues of JLA #2 in 9.6, 9.4 and 9.4.

Actually, nothing compared to the five copies of Daredevil #1:

9.6, 9.6, 9.2, 9.0, 8.5

I guess a desire to get out while the gettin's good overcomes fears of cannibalization.

Or is it a desire to jump out of quality to buy into bulk quantity, as per yesterday's results:  (:  :screwy:

Those are both 9.8s.  How do they reflect a "jump out of quality"?

I thought you were going to show someone buying up a warehouse of 6.0 X-Men 1s (the Jim Lee one).

newsstand editions, quite more "rare" if you're into that sort of thing...  (still same book but whatever meh)

Apparently it's a thing now. lol

I guess it's true what they say about suckers born every minute, etc.

To each their own, but you are referring to the top left hand corner of the label which I do not pay much attention to, as long as the book is presentable and have nice eye appeal relative to that number.  (thumbsu

I tend to focus much more on the center part of the label, and by "quality" in this case here, I simply mean that books like JLA 1, JLA 2, and Daredevil 1 is of higher "historical book content" quality than a Spidey 300 which already has over 1,600 copies graded at CGC 9.8 or higher, with almost another 5,000 copies knocking right on its door at CGC 9.6.  :gossip:

Especially since as we all know, that top land hand number is very subjective and changeable, while that center portion is definitive and fixed as a JLA 9 will always be a JLA 9 and cannot be magically manipulated into a JLA 1 for example.  hm

There’s a CGC 9.0 More Fun Comics #55 hitting Heritage this month and it’s the 3rd highest graded copy. Curious to see what the hammer price will be on this.

Wow, wonder what is will go for with Black Adam coming out.

Beats my restored copy by 100 miles!

It certainly can't hurt in the short term, but if it's Doctor Fate, I would rather go after More Fun 56 with his classic cover first appearance.  Even more so if you factor in the price point and the relative rarity factor for MF 56 when compared to MF 55.  (thumbsu

First thing I noticed was the grease penciled "S" mark on the right hand side which made me wonder if this book came out of that high grade grease penciled "S" collection that had some of those early HG Fox books like Mystery Men and Wonderworld from around that same time period?  :luhv:   :cloud9:

Same with FF #5 CGC 9.2 (I know it's silver age, but it's so obvious).. Already at just under $100k

I remember being elated at $40k for my 9.4:preach:

How long ago was that?

The ComicLink auction opened last night and there’s a FF #5 CGC 9.4 already at $210k, almost $50k over the GPA high.  Two people put in bids that high within hours of the auction opening?
