Was this originally published in an issue of Comic Cavalcade as was the case -- I think -- with the One Hundred Years of Co-Operation giveaway?

I think so, Mark explained this in the first page of the thread.

Then they made them into giveaways. Date of this one is 1945, don’t know when the "One Hundred Years of Co-Operation" was published, but I think 1945 as well.

Just had a look at the copy of One Hundred Years on the Metropolis site and it gives the date as 1944. (They don't have a copy of your book for sale.)

You’re right. Anyway, Mark’s copy label (which i think is the only one slabbed) reports 1945 for this.
