I check this thread daily and shake my head in disbelief over the amazing things that are found. ive never found str wars / joes / comics or d & d stuff outside of antiques malls wanting "collector" pricings.

It's not comic related, but today I grabbed this Schweppes celluloid Advertisement at the Antiques mall. It's got a few pin holes in it but they don't bother me. :cloud9:

Seriously, keep looking. I think many find things on sheer drive and volume searching. Out of the success, there are infinitely more failures.

Its considered to be one of the best science fiction novel series, with a first print being worth thousands.

Its board is a bluish green, has a print date of 1965, and has the city of Toronto as the Canadian publisher. At least this is what I think are identification markers.

yea I am happy with the find . the first is a book club first print which drops the value.. but still amazingly cool to find it in a free bin.

The signed copy is a 1976 printing of the children of dune.. amazingly HTF

 

there were 2 others from the same collection as well . a first printing of the Andromeda strain w/o dust jacket and a H/C Dragonriders of Pern .

 

Our recycling depo isn't open Monday.. but I may go back on Tuesday..

OK, not as impressive as Fantastic Thor but I found this for $4 at a local antique shop, bagged and boarded (I put it in the mylar though, lol, it was just in a ply bag originally), appears to be VF/NM+

Bought 4 longboxes from a guy on craigslist a month ago, was mostly Sirius and Verotik indie junk but worth picking up for cheap. He texts me last night saying he found a small box of Daredevils and Preachers in his apartment and I can have them if I wanna swing by. Hells yeah! p><p> <img src=[/img]

 

And as I'm leaving there he says, you can just take this if you want it :grin: ...
