Noticed that this CGC 3.0 graded copy of AF 15 just sold for $37,200 at HA which is probably a sign that the prices are starting to pause and consolidate for now after HA just finished having 4 straight sales in this exact same grade condition in the low to high $40K's from November 2021 through to February 2022:  hm

a lovely white page asm 28 9.0 sold at heritage yesterday for 9k, almost 30 per cent higher than gpa last sale in march 2022 (6.6k). just like i don't believe that one sale means asm28 is on fire now, i don't necessarily believe this one af15 sale is evidence that the book is really slowing down yet. i'd need a few more results to draw that conclusion. plus, this book has a large stain right in the middle of it.

For those that want to debate - here are the last seven CGC 3.0's that sold on Heritage.    Ignoring one Sept 2021 sale that was Blue Label but had a Stan Lee signature on the cover.    Without a doubt - the 10/10/21 copy is the best looking of the bunch with a nice date stamp too.    Also note that the 8th sale was 11/8/20 that went for $18k.    So it essentially doubled from Nov 20 to Oct 21.

Just noticed there is another 3.0 going up this week.

But this is cool. Thanks for putting it together.

but how do we know for sure it went for the $100K ? Does that site allow offers ?

Yes you can make offers to Bob.

Without him or the buyer confirming the purchase price we're just stuck knowing it's sold for ~$100k

where's the Usual Gang screaming about what the latest HA, CC, CL or whatever auction price was realised? Are we up? Down?

Or do we still need, yet more data of yet more sales, to make a determination?

Today, the 7.0 went for 222k which is below the same grade which went for 252k (also at Heritage in January 2022).

The 7.5 went for 300k. I am not seeing any comp sales since earlier in 2021.

The buyers in signature auctions are likely distinct from the overall hobby, so I would say more time is needed to evaluate the trajectory of these books.

Thank you. I figured it sold for less than last time cause it was crickets in here after the HA live auction....

Pretty clear the 7.5 cannibalized the 7.0.  I don't know why HA would auction two books at the same time so close in grade.

Still , only a ~10% difference is not a big difference even with the 7.5 gobbling up some of its bandwidth.

The difference in Heritage's cut is minor. Plus they can advertise they have 2 AF's up for auction.  They care nothing about the consignee, only their getting own cut as fast as possible.
