Noticed that this CGC 3.0 graded copy of AF 15 just sold for $37,200 at HA which is probably a sign that the prices are starting to pause and consolidate for now after HA just finished having 4 straight sales in this exact same grade condition in the low to high $40K's from November 2021 through to February 2022:  hm

Last night one sold for 48k. Book seems to be up and down.1259870382_Screenshot_20220411-094908_SamsungInternet.thumb.jpg.3364de77140fa5af3cc027cde8605441.jpg

I guess chipping isn't as much a major factor as staining for buyers when you compare this sale and last in the same grade

Yeah, I'm surprised.

It's a nice looking copy, but that's allot of chipping for $50k.  And I feel like we've seen books with heavy of chipping sell at a bit of a discount.

Interestingly, there was another 3.0 w/ similar issues that also sold for $48K a bit over a month ago (2/20/22).  https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-gd-vg-30-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/122208-15034.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515  And if you stay with Heritage, there were three more sales of 3.0s with similar issues in November, January and March, all in the low- to mid-40K.   So seems par for the course for a 3.0.  If the price consistency suggests AF15 prices have stabilized, that's good.

This thread is like the Bermuda Triangle of the boards.  I don't know why I ever fly near it.

What did we miss?

This thread was made for people to show off their AF15 purchases for their collection. Let's make it that way again.

Sure we can discuss an AF 15 sale or two if it set a record price for that grade or something that sold for a huge discount that was eye popping, but to continually discuss about every single sale, it gets old. Just my 2 cents. I didn't intend to bash people about their posts, but wanted this thread to be what it was made for.

Yes, when I started this thread, lo those years ago, it was about people showing off their AF15 and giving the backstory about the purchase.  I've been out of the club since the 2009 time frame myself, but still drop in here to check out things.

Are we allowed to panic now that AF15 isn't the most expensive book ever sold...or does it not count cause it wasn't at one of the few auction houses :ohnoez:

Except it still is.  "Private sales" < Public auctions.
