There are a handful of Ace painted covers that are on my must-have list and all by the same artist (whom I have yet to identify). But after staring at if for awhile, I put in a proxy bid far above what I ended up paying. Honestly, it's now one of my favorite romance covers. I'd even place it up there with the work of the sainted Matt. Don't know who the artist was. That's such a great book, was always considered a minor grail of sorts in past years. Raunchy for a romance book, SOTI, painted, spanking...what more could a collector want? The source is Rangeland Romances Aug 1949, I believe the artist is Gloria Stoll Karn. Picture of my copy that needs an upgrade!
