Those are killer, especially the 1 and 2!

:applause:

Yeah, couldn't believe my luck. Only #5 had any serious chipping. No. 2 has a little bit of a spine split at the top that you can't see, but I think it would be balanced, grade-wise, by its overall great condition.

Sorry, but I really need to brag about this find. Went online looking for old issues of Mad and ended up searching the website of a guy dealing in rare books and magazines. He had some decent Mad's from the '50s, but was asking way too much for them. Was about to surf outta there, when I noticed he also had Panic #5 listed -- for way too little. Kept scrolling and saw that he had #4, #2 and #1, all for the same ridiculously low price. It was weird, because he clearly understood the value of Mad, but seemed to have no idea what he had with these Panic issues (who am I to correct him?). I bought all four for the equivalent of about half the cost of a CGC premium membership! They just arrived today...

Panic really is just painfully underrated. A quick glance shows me at least a dozen issues on the bay under $20 with shipping right this minute.  So while there's no doubt you got a deal, particularly with the #1 and #2, what you paid doesn't surprise me much

Enjoy the books!.

Agreed. Have to say, though, this was unusual, even by the bay's standards: the prices I paid ranged from $31 for the #1 to $10 for #5....so I'm happy!

It was a very, very good price, yes. Good enough that it convinced me to buy my third favorite EC genre (behind horror and war)!

Just another Feldstein masterpiece. Great grab. That is my favorite grade. Real nice eye appeal and very affordable compared to high grade copies.

I’ve had WS 8 in my “if I can get it at a good price” want list due to it containing the story “Seeds of Jupiter”, which was the inspiration for the chestburster scene in Alien.

Geez, now I want to read the rest of it...
