Just got an email this morning stating these defects fall into the acceptable range and dont qualify for ME reholder.

Are these spots on the inside...like on the inner sleeve?  If so, they just fixed some of mine.

Sent in 3 books. 3 came back, 2 had the issue and went right back to them.  Of course one came back again with same issue, but less of it.  At that point you weigh the risk of sending it in a 3rd time, and giving them another chance to damage the book...vs just living with it.

No idea why they would accept some and not others.  Push them.  It's ugly and easy for them to avoid.

They've obviously got a lot of dirty plastic and they are using it without cleaning it.

Most look like its on the outside, some look like they might be on the inside. I tried wiping them off with no luck, so i ordered some plastic cleaning stuff to see if that will do the trick.

Its frustrating enough to have to send submissions back for ME (my last one took close to three months), but now they are just saying no, it kind of left me dumbfounded.

A hair isn’t considered ‘debris?’

@CGC Mike

Only wrong info on the label is eligible for a ME with no time limit/doesn't need to be the submitter.  Anything else would need approval.  BTW, I don't think that is a hair in the case.

So this is not the sort of Quality Control that everyone here is talking about but......CGC should have refused to put this label on this book.    What in the world.....great way to ruin a Batman #1.    This is currently on auction with Heritage.

No accounting for taste.

The good news is this is fully reversible, and if you can afford to buy an 8.0 Batman 1, you can afford a Walkthrough reholder to get that :censored: off your slab's label.

this one is a scratch, but the first one clearly has a piece of plastic in it, and was deemed to be not outside the tolerances for imperfections. also its well within the 14 day time frame.....

CGC Creates New Custom Label for FANTAST Collection Comics

Posted on 3/8/2023

Featured in the upcoming documentary "Selling Superman," books from the FANTAST Collection have been certified by CGC and given their own custom label. The first comic from this collection with the custom label is being offered in a Heritage sale in March.

One of the most highly sought-after comic books of all time, which is certified by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) and features the very first custom collection label for the FANTAST Collection, will make its debut in a Heritage Auctions sale on March 30, 2023.

The first book with the FANTAST Collection label that will be offered in an auction is a Batman #1 graded CGC 8.0. This book originated in a collection of more than 300,000 comic books that were collected by Michigan attorney Dale Watts. The FANTAST collection is the focus of an upcoming documentary film, “Selling Superman,” by filmmaker Adam Schomer.

I guess this isn't a pedigree collection because they're not original owner books?

Regardless, ugly label is ugly. Sorry, guys. Really nice book, though.

I thought everything was good with my Creepshow 1 9.8 just got back today from CGC until I inspected the back where there’s a 1/4 rip and color flaking that must have happened during encapsulation. @CGC Mike anything that can be done?9809D350-497D-41A5-B5FB-6B7C797F34DD.thumb.jpeg.ae546a370dc323c5830eb9cc80261c6a.jpeg

"So, I have been speaking with management about the 2 week window for ME's.  I do have some good news.  This pertains to all books.  You do not have to be the submitter, and there is no time limit.  You can fill out a submission form with the Mechanical Error option.  A prepaid shipping label will automatically be sent to you.  (Non US customers will have to contact customer service for the shipping label)  We will fix books listed below for free in the "Fix for no charge" column.

 FIX NO CHARGE:

Wrong label information

Book inserted wrong

Book pinched between inner well seal

Debris inside holder

REHOLDER/REPAIR FEE:

Holder scratches

Cracked/damaged holders

Damaged books"

Yeah that label is pretty bad. Especially since it’s really just advertising a documentary. If I had the kind of money to invest in these books I would absolutely pick copies without the Fantast label.

Basically looks like all their custom labels. 🤷 Just less covered up by the sticker.
