Robot Man
Torpedo comic Con 2023! Always look forward to this show. Was real bummed last year when it didn’t happen. Jumped into the ride for the 40 minute drive to Glendale. Paid my $25. and in I went. Nice new venue with two rooms. I was greeted to a huge room packed with vintage comics. Most of the big nationwide dealers were there on their way to SDCC. Flanders82, silverseeker, PopKulture and 1 other
Robot Man
My first stop was Saul Zimmerman and his lovely wife of Oddesy Comics. They always have a very nice selection of pretty GA graded and priced very fair. Bought a few nice books after a few laughs and moved on. jimjum12, PopKulture and silverseeker
Popular Post Robot Man
Next I made a bee line to my buddy Ritchie at Bedrock City. Never been a time when I haven’t bought a fun pile. Haven’t seen him since before Covid I think. Of course, we had to talk some baseball in addition to geeking over comics. Sorry about the loss last night (ha ha), @MrBedrock. Caught the end. 12-12 in the 10th and the Angels walked it off. Hope you didn’t take my advise of driving over… We had a lot of laughs and caught up. Ritchie is one of the biggest dealers on the circuit but he is just still a fan boy and loves his books. One of the few who like me appreciates all genres. Not to mention, some of the real biggies in the comic world. gumption, woowoo, silverseeker and 3 others
Robot Man
There were pulps… And a whole room of art. Look close, the guy in the black shirt appears to be asleep. Didn’t look like a whole lot of action in there. PopKulture and littledoom
Popular Post Robot Man
Harley Yee the “Godfather” of comic dealing. No con would be a con without Harley. Hardest working dealer I know and always fair. Got a rare Prize issue from him. BitterOldMan, silverseeker, Primetime and 3 others

Popular Post Robot Man
Some of Ritchie Munchin’s wonderful books. Didn’t want to mention his beloved Mets. Especially since the Dodgers have been pounding them the past few days. And, I wanted to get through the room. Once he starts talking… littledoom, gumption, thehumantorch and 6 others 8
Robot Man
Bumped into my pal @Ricksneatstuff and Brian Weismann from Heritage. Great guys. Heritage knows to hire the best folks. Shared some sad news and talked comics a bit. Rick might not be selling (dammit) but he is still adding pretty books to his collection. I forgot to mention his latest passion, vintage vinyl. I have a lifetime collection myself but just have to slice that shrink wrap and spin them all! Larryw7, sagii and jimjum12 1

Popular Post Robot Man
Made some new friends. John and Stephanie Stephenson from Worlds of Wonder out of Sacramento, CA. Got a few cool books at a steal of a price. He used to live in LA. We shared stories about the old Shrine Auditorium cons in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s. We both remember dealing with John Verzyl when he was starting out. The stories of collections that used to walk in off the street. Great folks to deal with. I think he said he was a board member. I encouraged him to start posting again. silverseeker, Larryw7, gumption and 4 others
