As a newb I typically don't  have much to contribute and generally most questions I have Iwould rather search for the answer than pose a question that has been asked previously.

His conclusion implied that long term members post too much and that is why new ones do not.
 

Another conclusion could be that people were encouraging lurkers to post more and not to stress it so 33-128 posts were made by lurkers that normally would not have.

Thats what makes statistics great.

There are loads of lurkers who lurk for years before posting, then become established posters. You find your own level. If people enjoy reading and learning more than idle chat, more power to 'em.

So three reasons I post less now:

1)  I'm buying much less now at these current prices so I have less to show off.

2)  More of the threads seem to be about comic investing as opposed to comic collecting/reading/scholarship.  Comic investing doesn't interest me.  I still love some threads about scholarship, whether it's @Get Marwood & I's stuff on foreign price variants, @Robot Man's posts about the early days of collecting in Southern California, or even @Prince Namor's threads on the comics industry.  But those threads seem few and far between compared to the ones about investing.

3)  As @Buzzetta says above there is a standing board response that is something along the lines of "That's been discussed before, why didn't you use the search button".  I'm guilty of saying this as well.  Old threads are great for reading, not so good for getting a discussion going.
