shadroch
I recently picked up a set of early 1960s Matchbox and was surprised by their size. Unlike most products, modern matchboxes are bigger than their predecessors. Edited April 21, 2022 by shadroch Artifiction
originalisbest
New Matchbox vehicles do tend to be bigger -- many makes are still sized to the packaging (read: all over the place in terms of scale) while others are marketed as "true 1/64 scale" which will often result especially in trucks/vans much larger than you're used to! originalisbest
Another highly recommended Hot Wheels channel (consisting mainly of 1974 to 1994 Hot Wheels and all makes of modern day 1/64 cars) is wtffor's channel. He's in Canada and has an amazing collection: Robot Man

originalisbest
Trying different beauty pics for some of my favorite cars. The Classic Cord was first issued in 1971 so I like it for that reason alone, along with its difficulty. When you do get one, green is probably the most common color. originalisbest
Thanks! I like the Nitty Gritty Kitty perhaps best of all in the "Spoilers" series. These pics actually came out better than I'd thought they might. Have to take pics of some others.

It's no lie to say I aspire to be a complete collector like yourself, I appreciate your thinking so! I really did like how they turned out -- it's a tan-colored chipboard clipboard from Walmart as the surface, resting on my desk, with an across-the-street view (through the window screen) for the just-fuzzy enough background. Then getting eye level with the car and taking the pics with trusty iphone camera. I forget how many generations old my phone is, I guess five at least? I have been real diligent and have learned what time the stores in my area stock. When I started I didn’t know what TH was so probably missed a few. I started buying them for myself as well mostly Chase cars, ID cars and anything scarce. I don’t go crazy and just pick them up when they turn up. Just having fun with it. I have all the TH cars from when I started except a “Quick Bite” which I missed. If anyone has a spare, I have a couple dupes of these to trade for one. originalisbest
Robot Man
Here is the only one I didn’t get off the rack. An older one I picked up at a flea market for I think $3. Because I love Chevelles. And the only Super TH I have been lucky enough to find on a peg. Damn, these are tough. Apparently only one in every 10-15 cases. originalisbest

BitterOldMan
Not me, but somebody once said, “if God wanted man to go from zero to sixty in less than four seconds, he would have given him a 427 Cobra.” I consider this car, one of the greatest of all time. Found this on top of a metal cabinet. Edited April 25, 2022 by BitterOldMan wormboy, originalisbest, oldmilwaukee6er and 1 other

I took her there for her birthday when she was in town. Great father/daughter bonding day! (even bought her some Hot Wheels at the gift shop) Another shot of her with her daily driver. Yes, she loves cars! Edited April 24, 2022 by Robot Man Yorick, originalisbest, ADAMANTIUM and 3 others

Very popular to collect, right from when I was a kid -- not as vintage as some Hot Wheels, but as time marches on, all the '80s issues are in the vintage realm in my eyes. The gray hubs are typical, if this was one with white plastic wheels to go with the rubber tires, it'd fetch a strong premium. ADAMANTIUM
