Just read about it today after taking a break from social media on Todd McFarlane’s fb page. 

RIP Mr. Adams. You were partly responsible for my own love of drawing an an inspiration for countless pieces of my own artwork.

I have a few of his books signed and his Spectre and Deadman runs are some of my favorite books in my pc. Picked this one up from a boardie a while ago and proud to own it since the day it landed

Saw yesterday that he passed on Thursday at the age of 80. Such a great guy and so glad to have met him in person. Have many sigs and sketches of his in my PC. RIP Mr. Adams.

Absolutely.  It's a long time ago, but IIRC, it was Roy Thomas in an issue of the 80s reprint of The Kree-Skrull War who said that artists such as Adams, with their excellent page layout, dynamic pacing and imaginative design sense allowed us to create exciting, complex worlds which would've been impossible to achieve in live action films, at that time.  In the present, a Kree-Skrull War, or Avengers Infinity War / Endgame is feasible with 21st Century CGI, something Thomas and Adams could only dream about.  Given the limitations of his time period, both he and other mega-talented creators did brilliantly, awakening some of us to the true excellence and potential of high-level comic art, even if for the general public it took the transposition of comics to another medium and, much, much longer, to stop mocking and have the same epiphany.

I've realized this week that my Neal Adams collection is woefully incomplete. What a loss to the industry, the collecting community, and the arts in general. He was so active and productive before Covid, I was hoping to get to visit his booth again soon at a show now that the pandemic is kind of sort of in the rear view.

Have a few comics of him signed in person,à real passionate of comics,really knowlegeable...shame...the big laminé  is a little hidden on that pic,when i brought this to him he laughed and was impressed and talked to me for a good 1o min...the first sauron is the first time i saw him,sorry for the picture its with annother comics,anyway when he saw that one he smiled and wanted to dédicace it for me!i declined not wanting my name on a great book like that !saw him in 4 convention,always à delight!it breaks my heart..

Sad to hear about the loss of Neal Adams, a legend in a comic book world.  His Batman is will always be my favorite, a brilliant body of work.  I drove three hours to meet him back in 2019, well worth it.  RIP Neal.

I only have one CGC book signed by Adams and it's an odd one. The fact that he signed his name over streaky the super-cat did not go beyond notice.

I don't mean to bring negativity into this thread but I was a little taken aback that Roy Thomas felt the need to reference Neal fighting (rightfully) for writing credit a few years back in his initial remembrance post. Seriously, who does something so self-serving and passive-aggressive in a *memorial* message?? There's no need at all to bring that up and I was taken aback by it; not a great move by a guy old enough to know better.

Not an excuse though. The good outweighs the bad in Neal's case- ask Siegel & Shuster, ask Ayers, ask a dozen other guys- Neal rightfully explained that the Marvel Method means the artist tells the story and that upset Roy Thomas, whatever- Neal dying literally 48 hours before does not constitute having to reference that because he's still upset at Neal saying that.

I agreed it was bad form…. sounds like they had a few run-Ins over the years which Roy couldn’t help including in his tribute.  But yeah, eulogies are supposed to paint a rosy picture of the departed, not an accurate one.
