Joe Simon and Neal Adams The Adventures of the Fly #4 Partial Story "Muggsy's Masterpieces" Original Art - Adams' First Comic Book Work (Archie, 1960). Nothing less than the first professional work of Neal Adams is offered here in one remarkable panel at the bottom of page one! Adams recounted the story to interviewer Rik Offenberger as follows: "[At age 17] I started to do samples for Archie and I left my Fly samples there. A couple weeks later when I came in to show my Archie samples, I noticed that the pages were still there, but the bottom panel was cut off of one of my pages. I said, "What happened." They said, "One of the artists did this transition where Tommy Troy turns into the Fly and it's not very good. You did this real nice piece so we'll use that, if it's ok." I said, "That's great. That's terrific."

Rest in peace Neal Adams. Growing up he was my favorite artist. I was lucky to meet him  on several occasions. Also a pleasure to talk to and had great art for sale. I remember a good friend had a couple mid grade Batman books and was not sure if he should get them done. I told him now is your chance. If you do not get them done you will regret it. The are CGC SS 4.5 and they are nice.

He was always at NYC shows, and struck me as a serious person, dedicated to his work. Once you could catch him at a lull, he would open up and his true smile would come out. No one can deny his impact to our hobby and the beautiful art he will now leave behind. Thank you and may you RIP. God bless. Here is my favorite Adams cover!

I am not a fan of signed (on the cover) comics but since Neal Adams is my favorite artist, the only signed comic I have is Batman 251. If I had to have a signed comic, it had to be a Neal Adams' Batman.

Neal was one of my favorite artists. I'm glad that I was able to meet him in person. Very sad news.

I remember being a teenager in 1974 and trying to collect a set of Marvel Value Stamps.  Many of the books I bought for the stamp I didn't read for a while.  I don't remember if this was the first Neal Adams work I ever saw, but it certainly made an impression on me when I did read it.  Both to Conan and to Neals great story telling artwork.
