As a victim of this "Company"  , I read Heroes entire reply " the oh woe is me tale " 

As another member pointed out , no apologies in that diatribe ,no care for the monies lost ,property damaged,  or held  to point of meaningless.....

I'm not rich , I didnt go on vacation this year, as my income was reduced by expected 2-3k , due to his repeat unfulfilled promises..... He did , at least the 4 days he wouldnt reply over memorial day weekend , .Dominoes... I cant recover those expected sales this year  , notable foreign comics auctions are far between . 

Its "nice" to dream your dreams with other peoples money , however the customers didnt know they were participating in your delusions. Now that the "dream" is a proper nightmare ,  you think the victims should be understanding ???? you think people that have been scummed by you, give a single whit about your health or what happens to you ? ...... hilarious .... ... hilariously narcissistic ..... no one cares , they care about their comics and the money you took ....but hey, its out of your hands now easy peasy huh

We don't live in a perfect world. Some times, businesses goes under impacting its customers. Some times customers fail businesses by not paying their dues. While people can be upset - it can go both ways. It is all about trust and reputation. There is risk with every transaction..

Not sure of your point. Do you think this business should be sending books back to their customers? Or do you think the business isn't obligated because the customer should have known it's a risk and therefore, the customer has no reason to be upset?

Well in this case it is closer to embezzlement.  

Money that was paid for services was used for other purposes and then he cried that he did not have enough money to complete his promised services. 

I mean c'mon. 

I have zero empathy nor sympathy at this point.

When did he do that? Is he not continuing to work on books and provide those services, albeit slowly?

As far as I know, he has just straight up done no work on submissions. He even knowingly sent a flawed book to CGC without customers consent. He's also been upfront here about how the LLC is basically dead because he has no cashflow and by extension no money to make the victims whole. And the situation wouldn't really even be much better if he was slowly doing work on the books for the few people who still want them restored by Mike, because he doesn't have the money to pay people back.

He has had one of my flash #1, books along with $5000.00 paid for the restoration. Paid in 2014. Minimal updates and different excuses. Mike is a very personal person and I wish the best for him. However I am skeptical  I received a call today from another victim. I don’t know how they had my name and contact information. They asked me to file a criminal complaint. I sent Mike an email requesting a call asap. Let’s hope he is ok and I get my $100,000 book back. Just went back and checked my records. Sent book in 2014. I made the check out to Mike personally and Hero Restoration was not listed as an llc at this time.

This is a business gone broke. I expect people will get their books back, but the money is gone when the business burst. Sorry - but part of life

The thread starts as the iceberg hits, then there's the ensuing chaos and panic as the ship gets lower in the water. It splits in 2 and disappears into the ocean.

I hope some survivors get rescued in this version.

It's inevitable that years from now, one guy will search far and deep through the board's history to resurrect this thread only for him to do something inappropriate with around five others resulting in the implosion of the whole thread and it being locked.

Some of these examples, including the one above, push this "business" into outright scam territory for me...or close enough to that line where there is no functional difference.

I realize I have no dog in this but it utterly baffled me when I saw that…presumably a backlog of stuff (or maybe just that single book?) sat for that long and a decision was made to take on more work? And meanwhile, books submitted after 2014 are presumably getting worked on and sent back? I just don’t get it….

(Edit: and yes, I realize some books may be easier and quicker to work on than others, but still…almost 10 years…)
