Pulled out one of my framed pages. New Mutants Graphic Novel.

Fun Fact, production was rushed as this book was shoved into the spot early. On this page once at Marvel, they noticed all the mob has torches, but Wolfsbane was shot . To resolve it they cut out a torch and cut in/pasted in a gun. (you can see it in the second panel with white out.) the torch reappears on the third panel.

It's a great page, but also hilarious to think of a crowd of 1980s men carrying literal flaming torches instead of flashlights when looking for someone in the dark. Nightcrawler got the same treatment just a few years earlier. Someone apparently needs to introduce these Europeans to something called "electricity."

Time to squander a little more of the kids' inheritance. Though actually, the spending happened some time ago. The results arrived today.

Mike Kunkel's Herobear and the Kid is a wonderful story of a young man, his toy bear, and his family. Mike describes it this way on his website:

Herobear and the kid is a nostalgic view of childhood, complete with new schools, bullies, true love, imagination, and… a magic bear.

After his grandfather passes away, young Tyler inherits an old stuffed toy bear and broken pocket watch. He soon learns that things aren’t always what they seem, and that you shouldn’t judge a bear by its cover.

---
I fell in love with it on first reading back in 2008. It's taken a long time to get on his list and I'm thrilled that I finally did.

Thanks, Mike. It's perfect and more than you promised! Click for a bigger picture.
