Shocked!

Wizard World Chicago gave me a big surprise.... I submitted my 1st Black Cat..swearing to my friends this book needed to be pressed for maybe a 9.2, based on the fact that it had a light crease on the back cover. I would head over to submit the book for pressing. They couldn't guarantee the grade I wanted, but told me they should be able to get the crease out. But the lady at the booth could not guarantee that the book would even be done in time for on-site. I would end up skipping the pres

I finally purchased a copy of Wolverine #1 limited series... This purchase was great for me. I'm a huge Wolverine fan, and loved this character since I was a kid. Affordable Find

Checking out Topnotch the other night, and found this.. Couldn't believe how cheap they had it listed for. Maybe they couldn't push it at the price it was previously. I really wasn't looking for turtles, but when I seen the price at $29.00 I was just "yeah, that's a fare price!" Really like the cover also. I'm very happy with this buy. Great Work

This sketch is truly a work of art.. The sketch was commissioned by Jon Hughes at C2E2 2011. He seemed very proud of it when he handed me the book the last day of the show. He told me he couldn't keep his touch off of it! I'm happy to have such a beauty of a piece in my collection. I believe it's some of his best work..especially when i only paid $75.00 for it! Finally..

I figured out what issue I already own to have signed by Stan the Man.... The issue I have is Tales of Suspence #52. It's the 1st appearance of Black Widow. I can't wait! This issue is decent in grade and the fact that it's an issue Stan actually wrote. I don't understand how people get random issues signed by Stan Lee, I'm talking issues he had nothing to do with! Boggles the mined..well anyway here's the issue how it stands right now, I'll post again once its sig seriesed...can't wait!

Remakes

Disney has talked about a Black Hole reboot... Im really hoping that it happens soon. I believe with all the great movies going on, that soon, possibly within the next year might be just the right time for something as cool as that. Im a huge Black Hole fan and this movie deserves to be retold. Im just hoping that they don't take too much away from that classic look that the ships had in the original. Growing-Up in L.A

I was raised in Huntington Park Cal. It was a wild place to grow-up, but what a blast! Comics and Toys have always been a big staple in my child-hood..hence the word( hood) that's what H.P was, but it was my home, and I do miss it! Maybe it has something to do with growing-up in 80's. Living in Los Angeles as a kid there were lots of independent stores. One I do remember fondly was toyville..that place was great! Excited!!

Can't believe I found this gem... I walk into my local comic shop a couple days ago and find the owner sitting there with a grin on his face, and right there, stacked in front of him, is a pile of loose x-men issues, im talking #'s 95 thru 135..yeah, the good stuff! Well, I walk over there and I'm in awe..I go thru the stack, knowing im lucky if I could maybe afford one. One Competitive Task

I just realized.... Realizing how competitive it's going to be completing a Burns -Claremont run makes me think how expensive it's going to be. I've decided, like other great collectors, to stick with the 9.6's w/p. They seem much more affordable and in reach...but still so damn competitive. Odd Commodity

I just had to have it.. Always been a fan of Bob Laytons. I still collect his Iron Man work. I feel it was some of his best work. I also thought that his creativity really showed with valiant. Welcome home

Just got back from cgc during C2E2 While waiting in line at the DC booth for Finch, my girlfriend came in very handy. I had her fetch someone from cgc to verify while i awaited for the sig. I come to find out he was also doing sketch work..for free! I decided to have him do a sketch on the cover, it turned out great.
