I was watching a modern  tv show where a character gets sent back to 1943, and noticed a legit pulp being read by a salior.  Can't quite make out the title but thought it was a cool touch.

Buddy told me about these and I thought they looked neat.  Magic, a trading card game, is releasing some cards with a pulp novel art treatment.
