Picked up this at the LCS for $0.50 during Black Friday sales:

And this also, $0.50.... If only it was the real thing!

Each of these were also in the $0.50 bin:

And got the full set 1-7 for $0.50 each (this was right before they announced the movie schedule):

Timing, like condition, is everything.

Picked up this for $9.83 at a local auction today.

Two cheap wood burning kit things, a Thunderbirds puzzle which I've counted 103 pieces for (?) and a Marry Poppins Rub On thing which apparently has all the rub ons, but not cardboard people cut-outs. (I don't see the cut-outs advertised on the front and have not googled this.)

The various golden age are pretty beat, and the ST is not too far behind, but, behold:

The one thing that really killed me was all these bent pages. Dang. Not sure what to do as I've heard NOT to try and fix them, but being fairly new to junky valuables, and with so many pages to fix......

..Anybody care to chime in on what to do with this? (sorry for the newbie question if it is such.)

why not fix em? not going to hurt the value of this book and it will look nicer. Fold em back and they will eventually hold the correct shape

unless of course the pages are already brittle to begin with

They do seem somewhat brittle though. I'm afraid to try and bend them.

edit: Ok all is well that ends well, not as brittle as I thought:

I'll leave that in the scanner overnight. Baby-steps pressing.

OK, so this isn't quite an Antique store find but I found this in the back office of my local LCS. It was in a stack. I asked what they wanted for it and they said $25. I don't collect it but it seemed like a decent impulse buy. Looks to be a nice VF/NM 9.0. I had no idea what it was worth. Always found the cover funny. Superman is sporting 70's sideburns and Captain Marvel looks just like the 1940's. lol

Someone decided that these books were no longer worth keeping, so they took them to Half Price Books.

Works for me.

All #1 issues in fantastic shape. No other issues present from any of the runs.

I went to a library sale. No comics, but I did pick up some magazines and books. I got some National Lampoon including a Frazetta cover. I got a few Mad magazines and books from the 50s and and 1 from the 60s, including one with a Frazetta back cover. All for only $11.
