Dude, Luxx is nuttier than a jar of Mel Gibson brand Peanut Butter.

Yeah, but that's part of his charm. You know when luxxy shows up, it's going to be fun. With Mehdy, there is no fun.

Mitch generates more posts quicker with his threads than most for a reason. Why do people post if, on some level, they are not entertained? Why are they spending leisure time (or time not working) suffering a Mitch thread, when there are a number of other "serious" threads getting no replies?

The dude is pure fun, even if that fun is derived from derision.

Mitch is fun if you enjoy watching someone poke a stick in someone's eye and consider that fun.

Which of course, you and Sean do.

I love you guys, but you can all be so full of mess sometimes.

People flock to these threads because they derive some satisfaction, either from mocking Mitch, or watching him get mocked by others. Why is it so hard for people to admit that they take pleasure in absolute ing nonsense? The righteous indignation act is as much of a self-deception as Mitch's delusions of comic-grandeur.

I embrace the CG horror.

If CG was a person, it would be a damaged stripper, and I'd coitus the out of her.

...and Denial isn't a river in Africa. :makepoint:

Oh, I'm not denying that.

As Jeffro says though, you know exactly what you are getting and it's usually a lot of entertainment.

Yeah. I really enjoy his bigotry and racial stuff.

I sit here slapping my knee laughing my off.

Well, as I've said before I've never seen his racial stuff (or remember seeing it), except for the old Florida citrus fruit ads where they were about as racial as a 1944 comic book. I think some people got up in arms about those but they were just time period artwork.

Anyway, what 'ev. You can take Mitch and have him.

:makepoint:

Sweetie, you're misinterpreting my stance. I'm not the person accepting one while shunning the other. They're both fruitloops and fit into my social ladder at the same rung.

I need a very large eyeroll gremlin. I grow tired of your "Everyone is to blame" arguments. At least acknowledge that some people just don't like him posting because what he posts is insulting and inflammatory. He gets the most replies because he's the most confrontational and loud. I don't buy the argument that every reply is meant to just inflame him.

Oh, I get where you're coming from. I was more poking fun (with a stick) at you and Sean than anything else.

Personally, even though I don't have any sort of a personal relationship with Mitch outside of a few PM and thread exchanges, I actually feel mortified for Mitch for some of the wacky stuff he writes. They guy does not make any sense most of the time.

I also don't find this sort of stuff fun at all, personally. The guy gets defensive and people go in for the kill. I've never been able to stomach that sort of thing.

I'm guilty for posting in the thread, but I did it more in the hopes that Mitch might "get the point" than to actually feed the fire so to speak.

At least with Luxx, I believe he knows exactly what he's doing. More or less. :eyeroll:

My argument isn't that every reply is meant to inflame him. I understand that people don't like him. What I can't figure out is why, if you don't like him, do you click on threads that he starts? Why engage in something, or with someone, that you dislike so much?

The only answer I can come up with is that there MUST be a payoff in it for you. And in indulging that payoff, you stoke his fire.

My apologies if you grow tired of my "everyone is to blame arguments"; I grow tired of people not being able to take a step back and acknowledge the ridiculousness of their behavior. And that's not a judgment, it's an observation, as I'm just as ridiculous as everyone else.

I agree.

And I can't help myself... it's almost like the slowing-down-to-gawk-at-a-traffic-accident effect.

Personally, I think Mitch has the skin of a rhino and couldn't give a fig what the rest of us think. 2c

Whizzer, you're on to something here, and at least half-right. Mitch does have a very thick skin when it comes to taking criticism. He's defensive only in terms of measured responses and he does try to keep the personal stuff out of it.

Of course when Mitch goes out on a limb he can be prodded into cutting it off without due consideration of the consequences just like the rest of us can.

He more or less cares what folks here think, but not about him. He cares about what folks think about collecting and he tries to encourage debate and build a consensus around his POV, but his consensus building skills fail epically.

That's my 2c

PS: I know Mitch pretty well; he's a nice guy in person, and passionate about comics, but message board-speak and communicating in person are two different things. (shrug)

His garbage has got zero to do with 'internet miscommunication' and everything to do with his head not being wired right. (thumbs u

David knows me well, there is a lot of garbage here in General, but I take everything to heart.

The point I am trying to make is what is the value of S/S hair...why is collectable..and heck they did not even say where the hair came from???

If we start paying WACKY prices for related collectables..then WE lose credibility when it comes to the good stuff such as SA/GA comics....I hit nerve here with this post.....it is good some times to stop and look outside the situation.

FT, you're an excellent communicator and have good people skills; can't you cut the poor bloke a little slack? (shrug)

Who knows, after a couple of pints of good English ale you might come off less articulate than Mitch! hm

BTW, if you want to test my theory I'll buy the first pint! My wife and I are touring the UK in support of her books next month. (thumbs u

Roy used to include pubic hair with every purchase, but he has since discontinued that part of his service. :(
