Yeah I was wondering about the ID stuff a bunch too - seems like there will have to be at least spot checking but we'll see

Yes, will be interesting. Of course there is all kinds of speculation going around saying this will make scalping tickets much easier, but it is yet to be seen what the process is with the tickets in hand once we get to the show. ECCC was VERY easy as plastic tickets were mailed out, and upon walking into the show for the first time you are just handed a lanyard and small goody bag. No ID or verification at all. In SDCC I'm wondering if there is some kind of system when arriving for the first time where we need to show ID in order to acquire the badge holder. Keep in mind, mention was made of badges being shipped out, but the badge holder has always been a big part of the puzzle, and no word on that part yet that I have seen. Never once in 24 years have I just shown a paper ticket. It's always been the ticket inside the specific colored badge holder.

At WonderCon there were electronic sensors that you were supposed to swipe your badge on as you entered or exited the exhibit hall. I wouldn't be surprised to see that at SDCC now.

It looks like they're going the same route with RIFD. We just got our badges a couple days ago

Yeah, received the badge in holder. All you need is a lanyard or string to hold around your neck. No need to check in with anyone unless you want a goody bag and program. This actually makes the process much easier. I see that they will do random ID checks upon entering. This looks like their new system to prevent badge sharing or reselling. Apparently they'll pull some people aside upon checking in to make sure ID matches the badge. Still though, if there is some way to avoid these random checks (watching to see if or how it is done) it may be easy to sell or use someone else's badge. Even though I don't engage in this I'm still always fascinated by how some will manipulate the system and to what extents people will go to get in.

For people who did it last year, what's the procedure for getting tickets to the Conan O'Brien show?

Thanks--Greg

No, there are lots of artist listed in the artist's alley area.

Also, a bunch of creators either have their own booth outside the artist alley area or may sign at a publisher booth.

Like whom?

Most of these types of guests are done through publisher booths so SDCC may not have all of the information.

For example, you're likely to get big entertainment guest signings at Warner, Fox, Marvel..etc

You will have to check with them directly.

Most of the time, they will have an app where you can keep track of the signings.

You're just not going to get a comprehensive list on the SDCC website.

Who are you looking for?
